M3 blacklisted!

My car is currently in Brunswick, GA waiting to be sent to Orlando. I decided to give my agent with Allstate a call to get a quote. I gave her the model and was told that car may be on some list that Allstate does not insure. I assured her that was not the case. It’s "just” an M3 right!? To my surprise, she told me they don’t insure the M3! I almost fell out of my chair. Keep in mind this list includes Veyrons, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, etc.

I was curious as to why they did not insure the M3. She said something along the lines of it was a high speed performance car. I have been with Allstate for around 3+ years and I asked if this would be taken into consideration. She checked with the owner and apparently I can get coverage due to the length of time I have been a policyholder with Allstate. She said Allstate stopped writing coverage for the M3 about a year ago. I had no idea. I think that is a pretty strong statement for the M3 to be classified in a category with true exotics.

My 2008 M3 was insured through Allstate for 3 years, and my 2011.5 M3 has been insured with Allstate for four months. I doubt that your location (I'm in CA) will cause the whole vehicle to be blacklisted by insurance, and I think that your agent is straight spouting a fountain of pure bullshit from concentrate, possibly to jack up your rates or something. I'd find a new agent.

BS. They insure M3. In fact, I'm paying less than when I used to pay for my Z4MC.

I better call allstate and let them know that my insurance for the last two years has been invalid.

I know I had seen a few members list Allstate as their insurance recently when others had posted about rates. I am not sure why she would have said that

Another insured by Allstate here. They've insured both my current and prior M3 for the last 5+ years.

That's ridiculous. My premiums went DOWN when I switched from an '07 335i to an '11 M3.

I just had Allstate trying to get me to switch to them. This was a local Orlando, FL Allstate office. Had them when I had my 330, but i got a much better rate from another company.

Ive been with allstate for only a year and a half. They offered me the best quote out of anybody. I would just call again. Some of their agents are full of it sometimes. I called 4 different times and got 4 different quotes before I settled on them.

LOL. I can get coverage since I have been with them for several years. She said they stopped underwriting new policies for the M3 around a year ago. My premium went up around $60 for 6 months from the G37.

Recently i tried renewing insurance with State Farm and they wanted 3 times more then what i have been paying them in the last 5 years. Their excuse, is that the prices have gone up. Its same vehicle they have insured in the last 5 years.

So i went with Geico instead.

Bottom line, your agent wants more money thats why they come up with these crazy BS story.
