Catback installation cost?

Around how much do shops usually charge for catback installation? I am assuming it takes no more than 60-90 minutes. What have you guys been paying for this?

most shops in Canada should charge around $80-100.

Although once I was given a quote of $500.. 5 hour job; isn't a supercharger install suppsoed to be a $700 job.. haha

I just went to a local shop here in Houston called M Performance. They said it would take an hour and quoted me $140, which is ridiculous for an hour worth of labor. I was expecting it to be around $80 as well. I could probably go to a shop here which is 10 times more reputable and get it done for no more than $100.

5 hours to install a catback? Haha, should have told him his mom charges less and gets it done in 1 hour.

labor for a catback, unless it requires a serious amount of cutting, which we have come upon a few systems with this issue, should be no more than 1hr. Most performance shops are between 85-120hr, as we are $95/hr. I would not pay anymore than 120 for the labor alone, unless your system requires them to make cuts that may be in a difficult location or something of that sort.

Good luck!

140? avoid that shop

a local guy here would cost me 40 bucks to do it since it's only an hr labor. You should try to post in your local forum, i am sure one of them have the knowledge/tools to do it.

I knew he was quoting me way too much. Maybe because I stopped by in my Lamborghini and he figured he'd shoot the price up by 50%. I've heard positive feedback about this place but I guess I will just have to avoid it. $140 sounds insane to unscrew a couple of bolts and bolt back on.

One thing to watch out for, unless you have fold down seats, it's hard to fit an exhaust into the car.

Have you talked to Driver Source (http://www.driversource.com) or Motor Werks (http://www.mwhouston.com/)

I plan on taking my car to Driver Source for my installs, but I have not called them for a price. I would not be surprised if it was more than what you were told by "M Performance", though. Let me know if you do talk to them, I'd like to know what they tell you. Good luck!

Motorwerks quoted me $150....$94.50 an hour and they said its approx. A 90 minute job.

Driversource is going to get back with me with a quote.
