Few pics
Had an itch to take some photos. Haven't had much time to do much for the past 3 years due to having 2 kids. Snuck out at night after putting the them to sleep.
This last one was 'light painted' with a long exposure and just popping a few flashes. Exposure time ran out before I could fire off one last pop to light up the rear. Was midnight by this time and my batteries were dying so that was the end.

I used a Nikon D810 with the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 A lens for all 4 photos. I wanted to use my Nikon 85mm f/1.4 for the side shot, but the trigger on top of the camera wouldn't reach the strobes because I had to be too far. I think the batteries were dying. The first picture is just one Paul C. Buff Einstein studio strobe with a 22" beauty dish and 30° grid in it. I placed the light to emphasize the lines and shadows of the car to give some drama. Pictures two and three are with two PCB Einsteins bare bulb. I would have used a reflector if I owned some, but I don't. Light spilled everywhere so I had to clean that up in post. Up until 2 weeks ago I only owned one strobe so I would take multiple pictures with the camera on a tripod while moving the strobe and compositing them all for the proper lighting. Hurray for not having to composite multiple pictures and trying to blend the lighting together and varying color temperature. Last one is a single long exposure, 15 seconds (any longer and it was picking up too much of the background), and I walked around with the strobe in my hand and popped a flash while walking across the car, hiding the flash with my body. Light painting isn't my thing and I don't have the proper continuous light source to do it well anyways. They are all done at f/8.0 for maximum depth of field and sharpness without getting into the diffraction blur at smaller apertures. First 3 are shot at 1/200 of a second, although I could have used 1/250 to stay within the flash sync speed, the camera was on a tripod so it didn't matter. It was a rush job since I was in a dark cul de sac at 11pm - 12am and could hardly see and didn't want to get mugged.

Always been a big fan of your car and photography. Still looks so good after all these years.
From an 08 coupe owner to another, you should get LCI taillights. It really makes a huge difference IMO
