Roadtrip: Off to school... Performance Driving M School

Signed up today for the August 20th, 2 day M school in SC.

Received a 15% discount ($494) for being a BMWCCA member ($50 dues annually for wife & I).

Any others signed up for these dates?

Also, any suggestions, advice, words of wisdom, or things not to miss would be greatly appreciated as it will be our first time in the area.

Thanks

Have Fun.

I went in January with out any experience of driving on a track, the instructors, the facility and the cars are first rate.

Wish I was heading back there right now. Maybe Advanced M School next year?

Thanks...

I've been a couple of tracks but never with an M3, so I'm quite excited to put theirs through the paces w/o that fear of wrecking my own car that I've had on other track events. lol

You are going to have a great time! I recently wrote a review of the school on Bimmerfest after winning a contest on their site.

Here's the link if you are interested:

Enjoy you time there; you will learn a lot.

Cheers,
Tom

I want to go! I've enjoyed my car experience so much more since I started attending high speed driver's education events, and I think the M-school would be a great one.

We decided to make a mini-vaca out of it with the kids and driving there with a stop over in Orlando. We should be getting there and checking in on the afternoon of 19th and staying until Sunday.

You flying in from Cali?

Yes, I'm flying to Houston to visit family and then I'm off to Greenville. I get in around 4 on Thursday. What's the fam going to do while you tear it up at M School? I wanted to bring someone but it sounded like they can't really do much but sit on the sidelines and be jealous .

Makes sense, especially since you're coming from that West coast country. lol We have a 2.5 yo and a 3 month, so my wife will have her hands full and probably just do do some shopping in & around the hotel. My buddy & I were supposed to make the trip together and just fly in but he couldn't work out the scheduling. That's when my wife said she'd like to make a roadtrip out of it.

I haven't received my packet yet... Is there something planned (reception dinner, etc) for the night we check-in?

Thanks
Alex

Was this the regular driving school though? Sounds like it. The M sounds different.

Just returned today from the one day M school. INCREDIBLE LEARNING EXPERIENCE!!!! You AND your guest get to flogg all the M cars in their fleet. Don't want to give too much away, but wait for the surprise at the end of the day!!

Arrival day, depending on time you will be treated to a great dinner at Giatu, right at the hotel. Very comfortable accomodations, rooms are great, service and staff top notch. Drive morning you get full breakfast buffet, meet and great other M owners. Lunch buffet at the Performance Center. Dinner is on you drive night, however you get breakfast the departing day. Overall great experience and can't wait for the video.

Cool...thanks! Just had dinner which was pretty good and you're right, the staff is great. It seems as if everyone at this Marriott is here for either a BMW delivery or school. LOL When I returned to my room, I had an M logo jacket and polo shirt waiting for me

So far, a very top notch experience! Can't wait until tomorrow!!!

Most were in the high 22 to low 23's. No World records

M School was definitely an awesome experience! They treat you very well and you have a great time while learning high speed car control

Hey Ash, what's going on? Yea it was me with my buddy Ray. Great job on the Auto x course. We both had a blast, how about you and Eyman (sp.?)

I'm enjoying the Flip video that Ray made of the day.
