This is quite hilarious....especially the Mini and the Lotus but I would be pissed if people were yelling from the corner at me. I'm sure they can't do that any better.

Never took my bike to Mullholland for that very reason. Too many stupid drivers.

There is many other canyon roads close by in Malibu, with less morons.

what is really sad i think is the insurance companies will cover these people for reckless driving but the careful folks that attend a driving school have a battle to fight if they have an accident.

Good analysis. Looks like there's some significant camber change at the corner exit, as well.

This is funny until some poor biker riding down the hill meets a charcoal EVO head-on, even though the biker is in the correct lane.

That can do better. It's called using good judgement versus being idiots.

Mulholland has a lot of decreasing radius turns...I think the video was a setup. I drive this road, and yes there are a few idiots on it but not as bad as that video.

wow, what's with the stereotyping? i thought people in this forum would've grown out of this shit a long time ago but i guess not. some of the worst drivers i've ever encountered aren't asian.

nice vid, i take my car out to these roads every once in awhile but i would never put other people's lives at risk by doing this (especially in a blind corner!). i had a friend who totaled his S4 because he understeered into the other lane and crashed into a van. not only that, but he put the driver of the van in the hospital. maybe it takes something like this to happen for these people to learn.

That was me in the m3 and yes I cut the corner, but to my defence it is a very bad corner if you want to carry any speed into it you need to cut or drift, and if you search the bikers aren't any better in this corner. I miss my m we had good times together on this road.

Not a setup. People are always losing it at that corner. Cars and bikes crossing lanes, etc. The guys who filmed that are there pretty much every weekend, it's a compilation of some of the worst stuff they've seen during 2010.

There's a video out there that shows multiple bikers wiping out on that same final left exit. I may go check it out....anyone know where exactly this is on Mulholland?

It's the stretch between the rock store and Kanan rd. It's a nice drive if you go early, but otherwise as mentioned, too much traffic and cops. It's a popular road, but definitely other roads in malibu that I prefer.

Here's that corner on new years. I was planning on doing a canyon run, but couldn't wake up in time

Oh if that's where it is, I've done that pass multiple times with my buddies who I go through the canyon with. I don't recognize it from the ground but next time I'll pay attention. I love the new paved sections of that road. Also, the roads going up to Malibu Country Club are sick but infested with cops. Not even worth it.

Is that corner blind or can you clearly see the cars that are coming the other way?

It's just a hardtop Elise, and they do understeer. I had one and auto-x'd it a few times. Stock alignment set up definitely encourages a bit of understeer. You can also very quickly snap oversteer due to the weight distribution. Amazingly fun car though... I just would NEVER push one on a road like Mulholland. That is asking for disaster unless you're a very skilled driver.

for whatever reason i always though an exige was just a hard top version of an elise. Guess i was way off. Everyone ive spoken to about their lotus's say theyre almost perfectly balanced and its like driving on rails. I guess i really need to brush up on my lotus facts.

That stretch of Mulholland hwy in Malibu,CA is called the SNAKE.It's a 2 mile stretch is infamous for taking down riders and drivers.Especially where the photographers are posted every weekend.I used to ride it all the time..

Here is Tanner Faust driving the Snake closed course..

Bikers at the same corner as the cars going off..

Holy sh*t! That Tanner Foust clip is amazing. At the start from the aerial view I thought he was kicking up a cloud of dirt and dust, but then I saw he was almost continually smoking the tires and laying down rubber the whole way up--NASCAR V8 in a rwd-conversion Scion, that's why!

And as for the original video featuring people with MUCH less talent than Foust, I would also think that taking an uphill corner like that while hard on the gas would always unload the front tires, creating the understeer we saw. Most of the people seemed to think that just cranking the wheel harder and staying on the gas would solve it.

That's a crazy canyon, it's off of Las Virgines right? Drove that a few years ago in my old S4. Was in a caravan of S4 drivers, and one guy lost control like that Mini but not nearly as bad.
