Lower part of dash is leather, with extended leather. The section from where your center trim (i.e. Carbon Leather or Brushed Aluminum) is, on down.

I think the dash portion may be a lot of work (might be a completely different dash) but the center console is easy, I have that. It's something like $700.

The dash isn't actually "plastic". It's a dense foam material and looks decent. The plastic area of the doors are a good grade of plastic also. That being said, $70k isn't what it used to be in the spectrum of things. You need to get close to, or north of $100k to get really premium interiors.

The extended leather does not touch the doors whatsoever. Only the under part of the dash, which is disappointing as the upper would be more impressive, like the M6. To retrofit the dash would be big money. Around $1700 for the part, and intensive labor I'd think. The center console is around $550 and the glove box, which I enjoy, is $130. You can order from anywhere, but Steve Thomas had the best prices, as did Tischer. To install the console and glovebox was about two hours labor.

I passed on Extended not only because it didn't change the contrast setup on the car like the other colors would, but mostly because I examined Extended at the dealer and the leather on the transmission tunnel and lower dash was thin, hard, and rigid -- almost like, well, plastic! In fact if no one had told me, I would have thought those areas were plastic or at best cheap leatherette. If the Extended leather had been even slightly plush and cushy -- like the leather in the door panels -- I would've sprung for it, but I wasn't willing to pay a premium to replace foil grain plastic with (what felt like) smooth plastic. Besides, those areas aren't spots you spend much time looking at (except maybe the passenger looking at the lower dash) and they sure as hell don't feel good to the touch IMHO.
Unfortunately, even the F10 M5 has this problem. The leather dash included with Full Leather uses that same crappy leather.

Glad I don't have extended. The bamboo beige does not contrast well with black on the transmission tunnel and lower dash area.
