Unhappy Help: My ZHP Knob keeps flying off

I changed to a ZHP knob, and although I love the knob feel it has on multiple occasions completely dislodged itself from the shifter. Its never felt 100% right.

Anyone else have this problem?

Considering going back to OEM

Close the gap a little on the shifter rod with some vise grips

I'm having this same issue right now! Thanks for posting this thread!

I'll try the above mentioned fix of closing the gap.

You'll be fine. I have no problems with mine and it's been used in another BMW before my M3.

100% the best mod for an MT BMW for the price.

You mean modify it so that it lights up (because they don't from factory)? No I didn't. Too much work for something I don't mind

Just buy the M5 version which is illuminated from the factory.

lol I was about to say its not the best mod at all but for its price, I agree.

I say 2001-2005 Performance shiftknob or the 2014-2019 F30 M Performance knob.

Be gentle with your knob. Don't just yank on it like a wild monkey.

Mine wouldn't stay on either. Came off at the track once!

You gott a hit that sucker hard to get it to stay. I used a towel and rubber mallet last time.
