r532 - The biggest dislike I have about running my car(s) on the track, is the following day having to clean up everything. Getting rubber off almost tops the list.

I have to remove rubber deposits from the inside of my rims, some the size of golf balls. I clean the R compounds and rims together.

The car, I use one of two things. Normally, Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Removal will work to remove the streaks and strikes. Some of the deposits may require Rubbing Alcohol. I also have some paint shop solvent, but I do not like to use that due to potential paint damage.

FYI, I try and keep a good coat of wax on the car, particularly those areas prone to rubber collection. Hope this will help.

VZ many thanks. I didn't know of this product. I will try it immediately. FWIW I have tried this with success as it protected the area it covered well and was very quick to apply (but still looks as s**ty as painters tape). Still rubber gets on the most weird places.

I just spray some WD40 on a rag, and off it comes. Rinse right away no problem for the paint, ckd with my body shop. This is the easy way to do it.

when it gets really bad, a light clay bar should do the trick, and use P21s wheel gel for the wheels

3M Clearbra (it has an impervious clear coat embedded)

91% isopropyl alcohol. Rubber be gone! (though it strips wax)

+1

ClearShield also has a clear coat layer. Install it in all the usual places. Cuts down on tape time.

As tired as I am, I generally try to wash the car that night if I can. It's MUCH easier than even the next day.

I would NOT use any isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) on any clear bra film. I put a small bit on my Xpel film and it ate it away, not all the way through. But it took off the smoothness of the film and left it very rough. Luckily, I'm getting a Solar Guard ClearShield installed next week.

As a general rule, you can use anything on the clear bra that you feel comfortable using on your paint.

Isopropyl alchohol works well on 3M, but will damage other films.

Good luck with the ClearShield. Thats Baekert... do not think you are going to be happy with that film. There is a reason its one of the least used films on the market.

I haven't tried it (may next event), but I've heard Pam spray works really well. Spray it on before the trackday, nothing sticks. Clean it off with gentle soap aftwards.

Can't imagine it would hurt anything. Anyone know?
