Only 6 Manual Transmission Left

I am going to be back into an E92 and will be ordering one shortly, but in my discussions with BMW, it appears there is only 6 MT left across the US? BMW suggested since the new M3 will be a V6, everyone is grabbing the V8. Why is there 6 MT left in the US? Is it simply simply and demand or did BMW cut back production a year ago, thus not a lot of inventory?

I don't want anyone to say to because MT is better. The car is great with any transmission.

I am aware of that, but that doesn't say anything for the lack of supply currently on the market.

Contact Golffrr, he has a BMW dealership and he is one of the sponsers of the M3post, he can give you better answer. I really doubt if what they say about 6MT is true though.

Production cycle is ending?

Either way good for me when I come to put my MT on the market.

I am not sure how many 6MT trans M3 are left in the US I could have Ryan find out in one search but most cars that are on lots are builds that are not as popular as others. Could be a color combo that isn't sought after or it could be a optioned car that isn't appealing.

As far as 6mt vs DCT orders I can honestly say its been pretty much 50 50. Ryan sold more then anyone so I can def tell you there is demand for both equally.

I always feel as though you should never settle on a car on the lot if it isn't the exact way you want it bc A. you will regret it, everyone always does. B. when you spend that kind of money for a car a little wait can't hurt to get it exactly the way you want.

End of the day unless your perfect spec'd car is out there just order and good things come to those who wait

Also the e92M is ridiculous demand from our end. Everyone is trying to grab these cars up before they run their course. Allocations are filling up so fast its insane. Never seen anything like it.

If you are planning on ordering I would highly suggest you get on it quick bc Im sure my13 allocations will fill up fast as well then you will be stuck with hoping to find one on a lot somewhere.

Yep, that's why I bought one of each (one e92 and one e90) before the V8's are GONE.

This says it all about what the buying public thinks about the future of ///M and the shift in engine types.

Cheers,

I agree, his dealer is pulling his leg. At only one Ontario dealership they had 4 more MT in stock when I was there last month to pick up my new e92.

See that is what I was after, thanks. Since the annoucement of the new M3/M4, has the demand gone up because of the new V6/L6?

Couldn't agree with Golffrr more, my main buying decision was the end of the V8 run. Never settle on a car on the lot if it is not what you desire, especially on a $60-$75k purchase.

Did mine through ED, and am counting the hours till the boat arrives.

BTW- 100th post, not bad for almost 6 years

Nice! I got more than enough grief from "the committee" for purchasing just ONE E90.

Why buy an E9X M3 when the F80/82 is right around the corner?
It's like those who bought an E46 M3 at the end of its cycle, most regretted their decision when the E92 M3 came out .
Unless of course you dont mind or can afford trading cars every year or so.
The last in line six M3 didnt turn out to be as special as some had thought...

What he said guys. Last December I took a March allocation from Ryan. The wait is almost over -- 2 wks -- and as Golffrr says, you can handle the wait.
Does anyone doubt that we'll see threads in the vein " I waited TOO LATE!! "?
