Looking for PY24W "stealth" turn signal bulbs
Hey everyone
I recently got my X5 and have no gotten sick of the "egg-yolk" look of the front turn signal bulbs. Does anyone know of any place of site that carries a type PY24W bulb in a "stealth" or "invisible" version? I really want to change these but I haven't found anywhere to buy them. Mike

Would a 3157 work in place of a PY24W?

We're moving on this full steam ahead, just trying to figure out the economics of it. Our solution will be top quality CNC available in white/amber LEDs, but that means we need to order 500 sets each, and they won't be cheap...

Yep, BMW has been using the Phillips Silvervisions since 2006 with the Z4M.

Agreed - we had a bear of a time getting these installed on a set that were brought in from one of our M3 customers.

I have the oem silver bulbs, from some angles they still reflect some amber throughout the housing, I'm tempted to purchase some high temp silver spray paint and lightly dust the bulbs....

They are a very tight fight. You just need to use a sharp razor blade and trim the tabs on the LED PY24W so they fit. I almost gave up and this worked liked a charm. They look great and it was worth the effort. No error codes either. |

If you guys created a version two of the bulbs where they slid into the same position the stock bulbs do, then they'd be perfect. But as is, you have a product that no one should install for risk of damaging a very expensive headlight unit. Last edited by eclipsisNA; 03-16-2011 at 11:47 PM.. |
