Can someone explain the 6NR, 6FL etc please

Can someone please explain and list all the 6FL, 6NR etc type options that I keep seeing listed.

Are they the same on the early CCC idrive as well as CIC idrive?

Thanks

Corrected with input from apw2607...

6FL = iPod/USB interface, CCC or CIC.

6NF = Smartphone Integration, or 6FL plus a center console cradle requiring a phone-specific adapter that allows for iPod/USB functionality from the cradle, CCC or CIC. Note that the center console cradle is available without iPod/USB functionality as a dealer installed option.

Combox/Extended Bluetooth functionality = Support for Blackberry Office functions, Bluetooth audio streaming, album art and use of the original Apple iPhone cable, CIC starting with Sep 2010 production.

6NR = Support for iPhone apps (internet radio, twitter and facebook) and "iPod Out" (iPod user interface displayed on central iDrive display), CIC starting with Mar 2011 production.

The blackberry office functions, Bluetooth audio streaming, album art or single iPhone cable have nothing to do with 6NR. They are just functions of "extended Bluetooth" (handled by combox).

6NR provides iPhone app support (internet radio, twitter and facebook). iPod out (iPod user interface on HID). CIC only.

Great Question

I'm glad this was asked. I tried searching but it is a bit challenging to assimilate all these acronyms. And thanks to those who supplied the responses above...

If you have 6NR on a 2011.75 then can you stream music and artwork from your Iphone 4 via bluetooth?

Music that is stored on your Iphone4 that is, not internet radio.
