not a big fan of the growling lyrics metal genre...

i'm more of a iron maiden, black sabbath, even some hammerfall....

but nonetheless, the actual music does sound good and congrats to you for being able to put together a song.... used to play the piano for 14 yrs so i know how tough it can be

I'm not much into that kind of rock, but I support all indie's and this is well done for a rough mix! I know how difficult it is to record drums live, so good stuff!

What editing software you guys using? Protools, Logic, ...

the guy producing has all kinds of crazy software, I just stick with writing/playing the music haha. we are going to add some keys and strings to this track before we master it and set the levels.

The rest of the demo will be done over the next few weeks , ill update this thread.

Thanks guys!

Keep this updated, I like it. Hard vocals are good, soft vocals sound like they have a chance if he sings more. Sounds a lot like many bands, but let me give you some constructive criticism. There are A LOT of bands out there like yours, find something that puts you in front of the rest. Find your niche' that makes you successful. Asking Alexandria has their upbeat breakdowns, with some electric music in the background. Alexisonfire had Dallas, Dance Gavin Dance had Jonny, A Day to Remember's lead singer can do both vocals, really well.

I'd like to hear some more with the soft vocals taking the lead, and the hard vocals following him. You guys actually have a shot at this, coming from someone who knows the genre well and knows what sells.

Don't go radio rock or you'll never make it, stay true to yourself and just do like ADTR and just tour and make albums. Somehow befriend someone at Warped Tour and start opening for them.

Thanks man , ADTR is one of my favorite bands. thats more my style than even this music haha. Our singer does the screams and singing , I do the backup harmonies. This demo is our first 6 songs that we wrote , I think we will become more and more original as we go on. we have started writing a few new ones and I think they are Much better. just gotta keep rolling

Your genre isn't that hard to get into if you're good. Your band has potential with some guidance, and experience(money too). Just befriend some medium band like We Came as Romans(they became popular when they opened for AA), and start opening for them. Matter of time after that you can actually have a career with it, maybe not Justin Bieber money, but you'll be happy.

Like I said though, find that niche' that separates you from all of the others. It's the soft vocals that often make these bands, so maybe have your singer work harder on his vocals. The screaming sounds like any other big band i've heard, and the scream is usually the first to go after time.

Good luck at the Troc tomorrow! I played the balcony there a bunch a times, it's a great place.

What Collins said about the radio rock thing. If it is the same owner at the Troc from when I was last there ('05), then get to know him and be nice to him, he knows influential people.

I listen to hard rock/metal but I never cared for that satanic voice in anything.
Your singer sounds fine at the end of the song and you guys play really well.
GL!

This song from Periphery rocks because it's a more normal type of singing than their other stuff.

Completely agree with everything Collins said.
You guys sound really solid - especially for your first demo. I like the song... but you do need something to set yourself apart in the hardcore genre. This song, while good, doesn't show anything really unique.

I'm not a fan of the whole screaming thing either, but I thought everything leading up to that was really good. Also, whoever is singing in the background behind the guy screaming (the one that sings the "truth in everything" part) has a good voice, reminds me of Yellowcard a bit. You should use him more.
