KW DDC coilover kit for M3?

This is my first post, and I have made an search earlier without finding any information about the KW DDC coilover kits for M3.

According to KW homepage the following has been released:

"03.05.2012 - More driving pleasure for BMW M3 via KW DDC App:
Fichtenberg, May 9th, 2012 - Three modes driving pleasure and the opportunity to adjust the damper characteristics via iPhone, this is what the KW DDC ECU coilover kit makes possible. With the free KW DDC App, the dampers can individually be configured via an iPhone, iPad or an iPod touch. For the secured WiFi-connection to the suspension control unit, only an optional W-LAN module is required. The KW DCC ECU coilover kit allows a continuous lowering of up to 40 mm within the German TÜV-tested adjustment range."

Has anybody heard anything about this?
Is this a system that could comply with the EDC interface in the BMW?

I have recently purchased the car and I had the oppurtunity to take the car within 24h to an trackday, to my huge disapointment the breaks are verry poor, so I have already ordered an front AP kit.

So therfore I'm intrested if the stated KW DDC kit would be more suitable for track usage then the original suspension? (if it exist...)

It looks like it uses the EDC controls for adjustment of the dampener.

Looks very interesting and a good way to get aftermarket dampers that work with factory EDC!

In no way this system interfaces with BMW's EDC system. Instead, it uses it's own localized EDC known as "DDC".

DDC systems use your iPhone as a controller (w/ optional W-LAN module) to select 3 different levels of adjustment.

The announcement was only made before the holiday weekend - no pricing or compatibility listing has yet been provided by KW.

We'll start a separate thread when full details are available.

But according to KW homepage they are stating the following:

"The Plug & Play solution of the KW DDC (Dynamic Damping Control) coilover kit was developed for VW models, which have a standard Electronic Damper Control (VW DCC). The standard dampers can easily be replaced by the KW DDC coilover kit. The existing control unit and the interior switch that was installed for the operation of the damper control will be kept"

So if it works for VW to use the "EDC/DCC" original button why would it be limitations on a BMW? It's a nice option to controll the damping with an app, but for me it would be preferable to have the original EDC button as main option.

PS. I have Android preferences :-)

I think they have two versions, a "Plug and Play" kit that uses the factory controls and the "ECU" kit that uses their own controller.
