Two tickets within 81 minutes

As the title says, I just got two tickets yesterday for the same thing.

*No front license plate*

Does everyone in the bay area have their front license plate mounted on?

Only problem is, one was from DPT and the other was from SFPD. I went to the police station, and they said they can not do anything about it, since its from two different "cops". Also, he even stated that he couldnt do anything due to SF needing money, and they are giving way more tickets than ever..

What a day!

(This was in the richmond district on 10th & california, and 9th and clement)

Ouch. The Cali crack down is pretty lame. Hearing about these more and more. I just got one in the X5 as well.

Nice stream of revenue for them

I've been lucky with the front plate so far, it's just the tint I keep getting hassled over.

It is a pity that enforcement of this law is not more uniform. They should either have the law and enforce it, or don't have the law at all. I personally think it is ridiculous that they pick and choose how to enforce these laws to affect county revenue.

I have gotten these too in the city....They are fix its...so if you have a friend that's a cop you pay 10 bucks and get it signed off...really not a big deal.

if not, you can get one of those license plate holders that screw into the tow hook area, they are about 50 bucks, but you can use it later if you get another ticket.

Pay to play....at least it's only 10 bucks

In Chicago they send you the tickets in the mail. I have gotten two driving down Michigan Ave. and 2 weeks later got the notice in the mail. I also got one by a meter maid with a picture attached to the ticket. 50 a piece. It might be time to put the front plate on...

thats if you have a freind who is a cop. Its BS because if its really that big of a deal then all states would have this law.

exactly how often do they really use your front plate for anything. They dont drive around you and get in front so they can read your tag #.

driving down any highway and you see people pulled over every 2 miles. they are pulling people over one after the other. its crazy. now would be a good time for thieves to get some work done in the cities.

At least in Europe, the front tag is for the speed camera / intersection camera. Isn't Laser also aimed at the front plate as it "target" ? (not sure on that one).

I was only about 10 MPH over the speed limit the other day with when I passed a mobile camera unit, tagging in both directions with a single camera. The Polizei did not swing the camera around to me in time. Looking in the rearview mirror, his partner made the motion of hitting him in the back head after I passed. OT, but kind of comical.
