I have the V4's as well and like them (did not have V3's). When we're talking about < $100 difference between a used set of V3's and a new set of V4's, I'll go with the new set everytime.

the LUX H8 V3's were priced at $245 ( only the last month we had a sale on them), the V4's are only $4 more priced at $249

True but I've seen used set's of V3's in the $160 range. Like I said for that little difference I'll but a new set of the V4's every time.

Just pulled the trigger today... Will be eventually upgrading to full LED (as well as some other work), but should hold me until then.

Thanks - I wish I took some more pictures with the different light settings... It just looks a little different than others (IMO better, but i'm sure that some would disagree...), so I'll try to post more if I get around to it...

Just ordered a set of v4's.

Had my corner markers coded off so the yellow rings had to go!

first off there is no such thing as a 40W LED angel eye bulb, at best they are 3-5 watts per bulb, and as well i assume them dim down to 2-4 watts when the headlights turn on. We have compared a lot of the 20W brands out there and this is what they look like

I think the difference is pretty obvious

So I've installed mine today ) pretty stoked about the result. I left them at 12K for now, gonna see how I like it, white at 6900 looks sick too )

The install took me about an hour, that is not to say I was struggling this whole time to fit things in. I knew that with my giagantic hands it wouldn't be easy so I took my sweet time looking at things and figuring out how to best approach the task. I got to say it was easier than what everyone raves on, I escaped without any scratches and passenger bulb took me like 10 minutes total to install once I knew what I was doing after fitting the driver side. Oh and some time went onto taking pics too!

Here are photos from the process and some pics for reference of couple light settings:

Original eyes:

Tools necessary for the job:

Hot damn thats crammed ( I didn't know that passenger side is actually worse lol)

Driver side in! First 2 pics are at 12k:

Now onto 6900: (not sure why at the first pic it looks so blue, maybe angle on camera, I did not play with any colour settings on camera aside from aperture and shutter speed, the second pic is a more accurate representation of what the actual colour looks like)

And finally 5k:

One of the tricks I used to put the light into socket easily: tape it to the wire, lower it below the socket (used screw driver to help lead it into the opening as space is very limited there) and then lift and push it in, no need to involve giant hands )

Both LED's are in and set at 12k:

Just a final note, even with my hands I was able to reach in and get a grip with my index and thumb onto groves and twist the light into place on both sides. Make sure you get an idea on how the bulb should be positioned and try to get it close to that position from the get go, makes job much easier. So do not be afraid, where there is a will there's a way )

Onto next mod!

Nice write up. And you are exactly right that the learning curve is steep. I did passenger's side first and went slowly. The second bulb - driver's side - took only 10% of the time.

And good idea about taping the wire to the socket and using a screwdriver to help guide the bulb in place.

Yellow LED angel eyes

Anyone make a true yellow LED conversion? I have HIDs now, which are super bright, but one of the set of acrylic rings is yellowing and thought I might just go yellow.

the website is pretty shady and isn't customer friendly like EAS where they have a number where you can speak to an actual human being. i can see problems trying to get in touch with them down the road when the v4s OVERHEAT. the price is 249 plus shipping on the website. is that for the whole kit (left and right) or 1 side? doesn't even say....
