To the OP thanks for sharing your input on Dinan. Drive the car hard on a track or some twisties and report back on the performance. Im in the market for springs eibachs seem to be on top of my list.

Rear looks good, but the front could use a little more. I'm going through the Eibach/Dinan debate right now, so thanks for the pics.

So what spring should one go with if they're completely disinterested in improving the looks of the car, and just handling?

don't bother.... Springs alone aren't going to help. Go for coilovers.

Thanks for the updated pics. The car looks great! I can also tell that it is slightly lower with the Dinan springs.

It might be my imagination but I believe it is still settling. I will take one more set of pics in a week or so and post.

Ashley, I think it looks spot on, especially with the spacers. Rogue? I just ordered my Dinan springs and will also be going with thier highflow intake and exhaust. This car is my dailydriver/family car and don't want to be bouncing around on the road with a loud exhaust. I guess I'm growing up...

Lower drop - Yes

Betting handling - No

It's the illusion man. The body roll is reduced slightly, but... the dampening is WAY off. I have H&R Sport, and I can already feel the dampening really off, and is very noticeable especially in comfort mode. Only in sport mode does it feel somewhat okay.

Now imagine a stiffer spring (H&R Sport Plus) and your rebound is going to be even MORE off. It's like a huge marketing gimmick, stiffer springs must = less body roll = better handling. No man, springs sadly are just one of the only ways to make our cars look great while keeping the EDC function.

I took before and after measurements(with pics) from the ground(inside my garage) to the edge of the fenders. I assure everyone, the drop is at least 5mm-6mm on all four corners. One of the most important thing people seem to be overlooking is that the DINAN springs lower the car 5mm while actually INCREASING the travel. I will post pics and start a new thread after I get my DINAN exhaust and intake installed.

FWIW, Dinan springs + camber plates go on this weekend, and I'll be tracking at Buttonwillow on 8/1. I'll report back my experiences on the track with 'em.

Thanks for the pics AMPower. I think they're the best so far for us contemplating a drop. Personally I'm with you. I'm either gonna try and do the set up of the new Edition package coming out to stay OEM (if this will even be possible) or Dinan, for sure.

Looks perfect to me! I'm all about the subtle mods. Loving the color of your ride too.

i see where your coming from, but I think you think H&Rs or Eibachs are that much worse then Dinan. I dont believe this to be true.

i disagree, people always say that but i think its a huge MYTH (at least from my personal experience)

I have personally lowered 5 cars (2 Honda Civics, 1 Honda Accord, BMW 330ci and my current M) and everytime I am told to watch, in a few days the car will drop even more. Until this day, it has never gone down more then 1/8th of an inch. So i think its BS.

How come my E36M3, Dinan Stage III E46M3, Nismo R-Tune Z33 all 3 settle down around 1/4th if an inch? It's based on my experience as well, brother.

And see the pictures in the 1st post: When you compare- before, (right) after and 1 week after, you'll clearly see how much it drops after 1 week. =)

Im not here to argue with you, this is my personal experience!

FWIW, I didnt even look at Page 2 until now, and I noticed quite a few other members who also said the same. The car isn't going to sit lower, why the hell would it? Every spring manufacturer can or may say that it will settle, but its just marketing / trying to please their customers needs IMO.

My car has definitely settled over the past couple of weeks. Others have described this same phenomenon. My theory is that everyone is correct on both sides of the argument but only partly. The spring is not changing but it is settling into the hard rubber material on the spring hats and that is what provides additional drop over a period days. I noticed this when I installed the springs that the stock springs had worn a pretty good depression in the hats and when I installed the new springs in didn't fit in those grooves as well. Plus with Dinan you have a brand new front spring perch with no groove at all yet.

Discuss ...
