It was a simple choice for me. Most of the cars that I have owned in the past have been 4 doors. (E46 323i sedan, Audi A4 3.0, 3x Audi S4 V8, E46 M3 cab, E46 330i ZHP sedan, E90 335i.. just to name the ones that counted) When I had the E46 M3 I hated having to get in and out to let people in the back, and that was even with a convertible! I tend to be the person that drives in my group of friends. I don't mind at all, and I LOVE the reaction I get from my friends after a ride in the M.

I like having the option to have 4.5 people in seat belts if necessary... and a weekend ///M rolling suitcase in the trunk for each

Having a fast black 4 door sedan is a great sleeper. Since for the most part my M is my DD, I love being able to drive "normal" around town, and have the power behind me to do whatever maneuvers i may need to do thru the day.

Being pretty rare , and something that BMWAG probably won't produce or bring to the US for many years adds to the flair of the sedan. IMO

this is very confusing... if e90 is so much more practical, and with same performance as e92.... why e92 is more expensive than e90? (if both were with sun roof etc,.) Is it because coupe is lower center of gravity, lighter weight and better 50/50 weight and therefore better track performance?

Fancy power seat. Better interior lighting. JK. Coupes are always more expensive. I'm sure the CTS coupes will be more expensive than the sedans.
G35 coupes more expensive than sedans etc. I thinnk even though there are more e92 M's- there are more e90 cars around overall and that is partly why coupes are more $. Economy of scale. E92 328's are more than e90 328's etc.

As far as the 50/50 I had always heard that the sedan had better weight distribution.

Despite all the praise for the e90 M3 here, to the general buying public it is less popular than the e92. Therefore it is priced less so that it will move. Great for those of us that prefer the e90

It's more practical for my needs, especially with two kids. This way, I only need one car that can be used everyday.

I've never heard why the sedan is cheaper than the coupe. Maybe it has to do with the CF roof and less commonality with 3-series coupes? I read somewhere the sedan has less than 20% commonality with its less powerful siblings.

If you look closely you'll notice the seats are not the same as well as the headrests on the sedan. I think they may have put ''cheaper'' seats in the sedan. Plus the sedan doesn't have the retarded automatic seatbelt arms, so removing these things could make a car slightly cheaper.

The CF roof isn't free ya know. That right there is most of the price difference.

Good point there. I guess these cool little features of coupe come at a price. However, I do like coupe with it's automatic seatbelt arm although it's silly and troubled sometimes.
If everyday street performance identical in e90 and e92, I might prefer an e90 since it does have meaner, mature look to it... especially that e90 is cheaper?

I guess coupe is faster and better looking according to this vid?

My primary reason was for work, but I could have gotten the coupe if I really wanted. I have nothing against the coupe, I like it. My second reason was the cost factor. As a bonus I don't see many E90's atleast where I live - say for every 10 coupe's I see, I only see about 1 or 2 Sedans, I kinda like that.

performance-wise the cars are identical. Looks are a subject of individual opinion so there is no way anyone can say one looks better than the other as a blanket statement.

+1
For every professional driver that prefers the sedan on the track there is another that would argue the coupe is better. Performance is essentailly idenctical!

I have a 110 pound Akita female named Tiki. She's been our girl for 5 years now, and no way would I ever let her near the inside of my M - that's what the Grand Cherokee is for. That's awesome to hear of another M owner with an akita - fine tastes!

1. Looks waaaaayyy better. More aggressive, proportional, and awesome ass.
2. Practical (I'm young but usually hangout with many friends)
3. Cheaper
4. Uber-Rare compared to the E92.

I like both Coupe and Sedan. However I need to carry a 2 year old boy around so that decision was rather simple for me.

In hindsight, I do like the fact that it's rarer ;-)
