M withdrawals
Left my car at the parking garage this past Thursday afternoon and will be flying in late tonight to drive her home (on empty freeway).
Can't wait... First time we've been apart for so long - ha! Anyone else get this feeling?

Yup. I'm on vacation right now with a rental Corolla. Let's just say its being driven like it has an ///M badge. Can't wait to get back to my M.

Oh yeah, all the time. I was on vacation last week and didn't drive the M3. I had to take her out yesterday evening. Some ahole in a Maxima pulled up next to me and wanted a drag race. It didn't end well for him lol.

Thanks! Was away from them, too. I got some nice big hugs this morning. It was a great drive home, despite the construction zones and more traffic than I'd hoped. It still is a dream car for me - just walking up to it, hearing the engine and exhaust leaving the parking garage, that first real stab of the throttle... What a machine... The last bit of my drive home is country roads, so I took the opportunity to light up the tires from a stop sign (and again at second gear) and fly through a short set of switchbacks. Drive in this morning was pretty sweet, too (windows down, of course).

I know how you feel. My car is 3,000km away from me right now I`m driving a Nissan Altima in it`s absence.
I will be reunited with the M this Friday at 11:35am and can`t wait. My car was picked up on Aug. 30th (on a closed trialer) to make the long trip to St John`s, Newfoundland. I`ll be driving the M in Targa this year

The one (only?) good thing about being away from my car for a little while was that it felt "new" to me for a couple days, almost like when I first bought it. It is pretty amazing how quickly you become acclimated to the power, handling, suspension, etc. Probably why so many people here end up supercharging at some point!
I drove my sister's older Passat while I was out with them, and the wallow in the suspension was so pronounced to me. But pretty much every car I've driven since getting my M feels like that now...

I still remember the first time I ever drove the new M3 back in 2008... and I mean every single detail.
I replay it in my head almost daily.
