Remote and Angel Eye

Just a general question...(I assume pre-lci + lci M3s all have same xenon headlight units)

My LCI 09 M3 turns on taillight and angel eyes when unlocking the door using the remote. (Headlight on auto mode)

Had battery problem recently, dealer charged it and said it was fine. The angel light and taillight do not come on when I unlock the door.

I tried everything, setting on/off on i-drive, switching auto headlight knobs around, driving and coming back and starting off/on

What's going on with this? Battery seems fine now...

yea i tried every option, including having it on and turning off the car and unlocking. didn't work

I mean, technically I always leave on Auto and when i come back to the car and unlock it, it always worked (it is supposed to work that way).

Well as long as you're still under 50k miles I'd go to the dealership and have em check out what the problem is. Maybe a problem with a fuse or something.

That is an option that can be coded, so the dealer should be able to enable it for you.

but this was the factory setting and i had it worked that way since i got the car. Is the coding "deactivated" due to the battery issue i had? is that the case here?

Angel Eyes on when unlocking the car FRM (NFRM) module.

Values: "hart_einschalten" - instant on; "soft_einschalten" - gradual; "nicht_aktiv" - disabled.

My battery shows low sign again. I knew the dealer did not charge properly, or now i can say with evidence that there is defect in battery, even after its charged it still shows low after just driving 13 miles. I'm going to get a new battery under warranty, and hopefully by then it will work again.

It may be the alternator, did they check the output?
