Limited topspeed or what????
OK, so my former E46 M3 manual ran a 275kmh(speedometer) in the speedlimiter(250kmh in reality.)
My former E90 335i and E90 330i both manual ran 261kmh in the speedlimiter.(in reality 250kmh right?) That's fine with me. But yesterday in Germany, not that much traffic, and i was still in 5th gear(6 manual e90 M3) when the REV(not speed) limiter kicked in at >8100/8200rpm @ plusminus 280kmh speedometer. I didn't have the chance to look carefully because of the traffic ahead, but I wanted to put it into 6th to go beyond 300kmh(187mph). But wtf, do I have a speedlimiter on my M3 or not. Question: What is the speedometer max speed for a limited EU M3 E90 6 manual? BTW the stability at 280kmh(174mph)= 100% excellent. |

Danke schön für die schnelle Meldung, Nachbar.
I'm going to try to put it in 6th tonight > 250kmh, let's see what it'll do. Maybe it was 273kmh speedo, but it looked like 280 to me...wishful thinking. |

Makes you wonder what's the point of going for the "unlimited topspeed" option . That let's you go to 290 km/h right?

Mine stops at 280 Km/h. ( speed limiter )
Although i think that it can reach easilly 300 Km/h without the limiter. Best regards, Maika

Try driving at these speeds on public roads and you deserve to be locked up. |

I don't own one so I can't personally attest to this but I could swear I read somewhere that there was no actual rev limiter on the car. I know that there is a speed limiter in the states but shouldn't that be excluded in Germany?

Can't you borrow a Garmin? Then reset the trips and it will remember the topspeed, so you can concentrate on those trucks that do 125mph less than you on topspeed...
