But if it's important for you to have it easy to bring back to stock, I would call Active Autowerke for their test pipes, they are supposedly builing some that will make it easy to swap back the stock cats in place!
Why can't you swap the ACM or Turner pipes back in place now? I thought the sleeves they came with worked with the stock primary cats.

Not sure you even get on the plane! (BTW, I will be going back to a near-stock state shortly.)

Glad to hear that a VT1 is still fun even with the stock exhaust. I have my eye on a 550 when my warranty is up.

It's the stock cats that are hard to put back because of where you need to cut them, you need to weld them back in place, Active is suppose to have a solution for that, talk to Andrew there!

Oh don't worry for that, it is a lot of fun! I raced a couple of fast cars too and it did pretty good! My best comparaison was with a DCT F10 M5, I was equal with it from ~50 to ~220km/h with the 535 pulley and stock cats, and remember I'm manual! I always run 94 octane at the pump and it makes a huge difference from 91!

Excellent! Just to be clear, a 535 with a pulley is basically a 550 right? I don't believe ESS sells a 535 anymore.

Jealous on the 94 octane. We're limited to 91 here.

I'm surprised no one mentioned stickers...+5 WHP a piece makes them the best value! (:

I would rather drive into a tree than put a sticker on my car.

Agreed. Hell, I don't even like the M3 badge that much.

Oh no sorry, what I meant is that I had the 535 kit! The only diffence between the 535 and 550 are the pulley and the tune, so it's basically the same kit, the 535 has a larger pulley that produces less boost, that's why I said I had the 535 pulley!

So there's no cutting into your existing engine or something like that, to put in a SC?

I don't know for the other kit but the ESS VT1 is pretty much a bolt-on kit. I installed it in a driveway with my friend who's a mechanic at the BMW dealership, it was an easy install and there was no cutting to do! I have now done 20000km on the kit with zero issue, just lots of fun!

+1 haven't installed one myself but I've seen a a friend install his with a bit of help here and there in about 5-6 laid back hours.

Well, you can forget all that. The new car is fitted with a turbocharged straight six. Turbocharging? In an M car? That’s like putting gravy on an ice cream.
