you don't have to look at the horizon to notice a tilting effect. Maybe I'm anal but every time I get a shot that isn't leveled with the horizon I have to fix it in post lol
if you can weight the 5D down, the glidecam can't touch this.

That is pretty damn good. I would try to keep the camera tilted down a little not give the shot so much head room.

Off to shoot with the steadicam

I was debating "correct" headroom versus canopy white space. and we just didn't maintain the distance that I set the shot up for. :\

have fun!

Glidecam HD1000, 5D and 7D are in my opinion optimal weights for this rig. Its $350 but well worth it, easy to adjust, and it is handheld.

I just picked up a CMR Blackbird stabilizer. IMO, much better system than the Glidecams.

rodi you still around in NYC?

Damn, I wouldn't have missed this if you had quoted my last post so it would pop up in my notifications. I'm rarely in this section.

Never heard of the XR before. Looks like a new addition that they sell to DSLR users. There's also an HD2000.

The difference is the weight that's supported by the stabilizer. If you're going to be shooting with just a camera and lens, then the 2000 is a better choice -- it's cheaper and lighter.

in addition to that, the difference probably lies in the mounting and adjusting of the camera. the HD series is good at this, the earlier ones are a pain in the ass and you cannot adjust without dismounting and screwdrivers.
