This is purely a dress-up part, right? The M3 doesn't have "struts" in the rear - the rear damper mounting points don't bear any significant load when cornering or braking.

Unless you do a coil over conversion in the rear, which some race cars do if regulation allows (i.e. FiA GT4), a rear strut bar is probably not needed because the rear towers carry very little load.

I agree. This strut bar doesn't really do much other than making our wallet a little thinner. The hinged design is not something you want to see in a strut bar anyway.

are there any rear strut bars out there? or am I going to have to fabricate my own? anyone?

OR... with my coilovers... I can weld the hinges on this bar.... hmmm......

+1 on this and the other similar replies. Reminds me of this very old thread where I debated Frank at CEC about the effectiveness of the AC rear strut bar...
