Layer Detailing Products = Taboo?

I’ve been a Zaino user for about a year now. While I’m quite happy using Zaino, I’m also itching to try other waxes/polishes. I definitely want to get the hang of using an orbital polisher.

My question to you guys is that, is it detailing taboo to layer different products? In other words, will I be wasting product if I layer Zaino and another product such as stuff from CG?

I have a lot of Zaino left and I do like how long it lasts on the car. I heard that waxes don’t lasts as long. But I heard the UV protection from other products is better. What do you guys think?

I'm sure the detailing marketing departments would tell you it's taboo. In general I feel fine mixing different company's products where it makes sense (ie: don't put sealant over wax but put whatever company's wax you choose over whatever other company's sealant).
