I might need to look into going to this race!!! Which event is at Putnam this week? I need to make it out there...

As for what to do...um, If you want a nice dinner, I suggest St. Elmos for some great steak ($$$$) and shrimp cocktail! Cars and Coffee will be on Saturday morning at 10 if you have a little time then. Usually there are some free concerts happening someplace...sometimes there are partys on Georgia Street (www.georgiastreetidny.com). "Ball and Biscuit" and "Libertine" has great old fashion drinks (very strong and cost at least $10 per drink - though very strong).

Of course there are museums and such (war mueseum, state museum, war memorial, renting and riding bike on cultural trail...)

Appreciate the recommendations.

Really looking forward to the race. United is a seriously good live show with all of the classes. I prefer it to Indycar actually. Race is on Friday -- http://www.imsa.com/races/brickyard-grand-prix

Track day Saturday, but it looks like they've sold out. Never been to Putnam before and excited for that as well! Going to be a motorsports sort of weekend. http://www.1010thsmotorsports.com/July_2014_Putnam.html

No problem! I might look into getting tickets for the race, wouldn't mind going.

I have done the 10/10th motorsports before...not a bad setup. I guess I had my weekends off because I thought that was on the 19th, must have been a different club. Have fun!!

Also, let me know if you need anything while here (tools, place to wrench, etc) as I should be in town.

Just spotted your offer man, I appreciate that. Everything went as planned, and had a blast.

Walked pretty much all of downtown I think and ended up here for food. Good stuff! http://www.bakersfieldmassave.com/ Hope to come back for the race again next year.

No worries. Ended up going to a Beerfest down in Brown County (south near IU) that Saturday.

Bakersfield has some great tacos and strong margaritas!! Bru Burger is also very good and just up the street from Bakersfield. The nice thing about is Indy is that it is fairly small and easy to cover on foot!

Glad you had a good time!

Hey guys, I did get my car back a week ago today. What a bunch of crap...blown engine at 6600 miles? Oh well...covered under warranty. The thing that sucks the most is I have to go through the 1200 mile break in period again. I am gone the next two weekends but will hopefully be back at C&C come August 2nd. I registered for the BMW Car Corral at Carmel Artomobila. Anyone else?

I sold an on-the-door cup holder. I've still got a set of tires, OEM brakes for the E46 M3 and a complete McIntosh car audio system
I quoted the miscellaneous quotes to draw your attention to the thread. Interested in going C&C this weekend?

Ahhhgggg
Cinci day trip for daughter's bday!
Honestly sometimes Sundays are better for me to get out.
Let me know if an M car meet would be practical at Clay Terrace or somewhere on north side.
RE other CCA events coming up:
I'll be working the Klipsch tent at Artomobilia Aug 23rd ...

No worries, understand priorities! A Clay Terrace meet could be very doable for me.

I am not too familiar with the CCA events and the hoosier club website isn't that great. So, if you post up when things are, i might try to attend.

Looks like the weather will be nice for the C&C, so should be going (just need to do a quick wash on the car).

Use the money and start saving for a 997.2. The M is too good at the daily driving, and very good at the track too. I want it one way or the other, not the best of both worlds.

and I have been doing a lot of mountain biking / backpacking lately and the M isn't very usable when I go some places. Thinking of getting a little subbie with a 5 speed, get some good gas mileage, and save some money for a year or two, and get what I want.

OK. I am officially jealous! As a Software Engineer, I would love to find a job in Germany. I think I just need the right connections…

I'm curious: You have any parts for sale now that you're getting rid of the M? Feel free to PM me if you'd like.
