I wanted to see if you guys could give me a little help so i can save some money instead of paying the dealership money to get this fixed.

I have a 2008 bmw e92 m3 (manual), no warranty, other then the extended maintenance

I had my car serviced at the dealership (they replaced spark plugs/microfilters/front brake pads/ etc), well ever since then I have been having problems with my car randomly giving me all these error codes, they come and they go (but it's always the same 5), and when they come they nerf the car (failsafe low power).

During the first time of this happening weird things would happen, like:
1) I'd put in the key and it said it didn't recognize it
2) I would roll down the window and it would roll up
3) it would forget to roll down the window a little bit when I opened the door so it would pinch the top of the pastic and would bend the glass of the window
4) turning on the A/C it would take like a good 2-3 minutes

But now those 4 things don't happen anymore, ever since those things happen these 5 error codes come and go (making the car go in low power mode) sometimes turning off and on the car made the codes go away and made the car normal again, and sometimes turning it on and off wouldn't make a difference.

According to the error codes (when you get an error code you push the "BC" button to obtain the CC-ID) this is what they are:

DSC 24 DBC Dynamic Brake Control Brake Assist Failed
DME/DDE 29 Engine Problem, Power Reduced
DME/DDE 31 Engine Problem, Increased Emissions
DSC 35 DSC Failed
DSC 354 Start Assist Inactive

I tried disconnecting the battery overnight and seeing if the problem comes back, and it did...

Here is a video of the error codes:

Sounds like the dealership really screwed up during your service. They should at least look over your car (without charging) since the codes seem relevant to the work they performed.

I think you need a new battery.

Yeah even though I told this to my SA, he said they would still charge me a diagnostic fee.

Very possible. I bought a new battery on 12/10/11 but when I bought it I knew 100% I was having battery problems due to the car asking me to set the time every time I started it (also my odometer lights were reset to normal brightness- I always keep them on a low setting, I don't like too much light inside the cabin). Hmm, I should get them to look at my battery.

Turns out I might have found the problem.

24/35 is due to faulty hydro unit in the DSC. BMW sells a repait kit for the unit. (other error codes might be showing up because of the faulty hydro control unit or hydro control sensor.

http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...=34&fg=20&hl=5

Is this what I need? Seems expensive. $1,000 <-> $1,200 to get the hydro unit (not including labor)

I had the diagnostic done at the dealership, tech told me my tires were too bald (I had them worse), I put new tires on my car. Problem went away.

So turns out all I had to do is replace my tires (no hydro unit replacement or ecu replacement)

I have similar problem and have done some research and there is a service bulletin addressing this issue. Possible fix is replacement of fuel pressure control unit that sits behind the passenger rear seat. About $200 for the part, no programming needed.

old thread but im here researching like any other person in the bmw community. my car went into limp mode. CC-ID 29 popped with others followed. So once power reduced came on all of these other codes followed

CC-ID 29, 354, 35, 24, 229.

Additional Info: had codes of actuators. So i replaced both actuator gears with upgraded ones already, while apart i replaced my valve cover gaskets and spark splugs. the gears shown lots of wear so it was time. this was all done but the above codes remain after clearing the codes those are what came back on the dash.
