custom exhaust?

Gents, I need your consul on a two tier issue:

A. A local custom shop with an excellent reputation and skill set wants to build a custom exhaust set up for my M3. This includes two options.

1. keep the primary cats but delete everything else and build it from the primary cats back with 3" type pipes and build a custom x-pipe as well.

2. delete all factory cats and go with two racing cats built with above setup. This option is around 800.00 more. Doing this requires ECU work to remove the CEL error.

Is their a decent gain if I leave on the primary cats? I would prefer not to spend the extra 800ish right now.

Your advice and thoughts are appreciated. Phil if you read this its MAYCO performance shop on Bellaire.

Thank you gents.

Power is made in the primaries.. Delete them. No prob doing so, only CEL. CEL will not affect car at all, just will be lit on dash. You can remove the CEL via sims or tune.

I was just about to ask. Your biggest gain will be to go catless and get the CEL coded. I've heard they do great work as well so let me know what you decide to do................Phil

Like above, removing primary cats will provide you with the most power gains. If you need a tune to remove your CEL light and provide you with some power let us know
