TW/FS: '99 Estoril Blue over Estoril/Black Nappa M-Coupe
Hello all, I've been contemplating making a jump to my next toy car, and I think the time for me to sell my beloved M-Coupe may be near. By checking MCoupe Buyers Guide, one can see that these cars are selling for anywhere between mid-teens all the way easily into the $40k's depending on year, mileage, condition, etc. Less than 2200 were made for the US, and only about 116 in this color configuration. What I have here is an s52 1999 model in great condition, 100% stock and unmolested. I have the records from the prior owner as well as those of my own. The car turns heads everywhere I go, and typically I get stopped 2-3 times a day and asked what it is that I am driving, followed by a shower of compliments. At the moment I drive it daily (6 miles to work), and it has been flawless since I purchased it some months ago. The clock is at 114500 miles. Prior to that, the previous owner had it as part of his M-car collection and only put about 1000 miles in the span of about 3-4 years; always maintained, cranked and driven to ensure functionality. Between the s52 and s54 models, typically this is the one sought after when reliability and durability are in mind (no rod bearing issues that the s54 models experienced), and the transmission which is shared by both models is basically bullet-proof. Also, the s52 model comes with a more aggressively geared LSD and the car as a whole is easier/more affordable to maintain. No disrespect to the s54 fans - I had an e46 M3 which I truly enjoyed at the time. Being a 14 year old car, there are obvious signs of use such as small nicks on the front part of the car, some very minor and hardly noticeable door dings (PDR would take care of them), and a few minor surface scratches here and there (some of which have been touched up by the prior owner), however, it is in excellent condition for the age. The driver side seat bolster has a little wear/discoloration, but no cracks. Before purchase, the prior owner had the front bumper professionally repainted since the bottom splitters had lost some of the paint due to the concrete bars from parking spots. Therefore, with the exception of the front bumper, paint is all original. The moment I purchased the car, I had the following done as preventive maintenance: all serpentine belts replaced, transmissions fluid replaced with Amsoil MTF which is highly recommended, and the differential fluid replaced with the stuff that BMW puts into all M differentials (not cheap by the way). The engine oil had just been replaced by previous owner and it still has many miles left on it. I had Suntek CXP carbon high end window tint installed, and I personally installed a 35W 4500K (oem) HID kit on the car since the original halogen bulbs were not up to par with the task of good visibility. I also purchased the BMW magnetic rock guards for the fenders, and got rid of the clear bumper lenses that came with the car, which looked OK during the day, but cheap at night when illuminated (in my opinion). I replaced the faded M emblem stickers as well, which is a small detail that makes a world of difference. So most of the pictures I have are from when I brought the car home, and the last one shows the car as it currently sits; if any serious prospect buyers would like additional current pictures, I would be glad to take more; again, the car has not changed much other than the minor cosmetic changes that I just mentioned. I also performed a seat bushing replacement since both seats had a little back and forth play which is common on these cars; I performed the job myself and they are solid. Based on average pricing, how rare these cars are, the fact that this car has never been molested, and its condition, I would like to start my price at $16450, with small room for negotiation. This is a great price for an accident-free, unmolested, clear/clean title/autocheck/carfax M-Coupe. I had an offer for $25k recently, and I passed on it because I was still to attached to the car and I am in no rush to sell. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions. Serious inquiries only. As she currently sits: Interior shots: Virgin/untouched engine (a little dusty but a good sign that it hasn't been tinkered with): Last edited by 1SerieStud; 03-09-2013 at 02:56 PM.. |

Trust me when I say that if I were living in the states, this car would be mine. Great price, beautiful mint car... I love it. Estoril blue was the perfect color for the M Coupe... Perfect... I wish I was buying this today.

It's a sick car no doubt. But this is the M3 marketplace so there probably won't be as much interest. Hope it goes to the right hands!

Bump for a beautiful car. If I had room for another toy, I'd so consider this. Estoril blue, right interior color, well maintained, not to mention one of the most entertaining cars to drive BMW has ever created.
Being in SC, would love to bring her back to where she was born. Good luck OP!

They browse some other BMW forums, but not this one so much. They don't carry very many late model M cars yet. Once the price comes down they'll start. If you post it on cars.com or auto trader they'll be all over you
Nice car by the way!! good luck
