Wonder why they didn't use a turbo s instead ...regardless that's pretty cool...

Not 100% sure but I think the Cayenne Turbo S might just beat the X6M by a nose.

One thing is for sure, the next Cayenne Turbo S will walk the X6M, simply because it will be the lighter car next time, plus the next one will probably be fitted with a PDK as Porsche have openly stated the next one will lose a lot of it's off orad ability in pursuit of better road manners (not that the last one was bad there anyway).

great video! thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Would have been neat to see a Cayenne Turbo S against it....but man that X6M toasted them.

Imagine what the M5 will be like once it's finally hooked up those rear tyres.

Obliterate will not happen, not if what I have been told is true about the X?Ms and from what I know of the Cayennes. Give credit where it's due for the X5M has already shown that it's shit hot on the track and I doubt the Ceyenne Turbo S would be as quicker. Even when the next Cayenne Turbo S arrives I doubt you will be able to use that word, probably 'consistantly quicker' will be the best you could expect.

I will agree with you that I think the Cayenne has a nicer balance but it's not quicker at present.

These cars are not my cup of tea...I wouldnt tow anything with any of them. I would take the FX50 and have money left over for a used M3. It cost 40% less then the X5M(which is the second cheapest truck out there). The RR depreciate like crazy while the Cayenne turbo is too $. Thinking about it the the X5M is sounds like a steal compared to the other two that I just mentionned. If I had to buy an X5 I would go for the diesel version.

All the tests I've seen, the X5/X6M handled better/slalomed faster/pulled more Gs in the corner. Seeing as you owned a Cayenne GTS you might be a bit biased?

i know what you mean, i have driven the GTS too, it has a different feeling then the X5 M

well i guess that's what you get when you pay an extra 50 grand more for a non-fully loaded turbo S, start adding some options and your already up another 10 grand easily. i'd rather have the X5 M, get a tune which i herd evo tech is working on, apparently it has a 70HP gain? im guessing with exhaust and everything else too.

CTS -

Lane change = 66.0 mph
Skidpad = .91

X5M

lane change = 63.3
Skidpad = .89

So yes, better handling and grip for the cayenne turbo s. 2.7 mph in the lane change is a sizeable difference too.
Ahh, you are correct. I was looking at the wrong section. I am sincerely sorry. Cayenne is indeed very fast and I'm actually quite surprised because it has relatively skinny tires compared to the X5/X6M. Impressive performance. Really, I'm with you. I prefer the CTS over the X5/X6M and it turns out it pulls harder Gs. I just find it hard to justify 140K on a fast SUV. The X5/X6M posts similar numbers on the skidpad and the CTS edges them out just a bit. All for 50,000 more? That's a sizable amount of change. On the top end, the Cayenne does pull on the X5, especially after the quarter mile. Cayenne Turbo S performance for the price of a Cayenne GTS? I quite like that.
