*UPDATED*-THE RPI Axle Back Exhaust Install Thread-Pics and VIDEOS
Brothers!
I just had my RPI Axle Back/Section 3 Exhaust installed on Friday at RPI in So Cal. I am BLOWN AWAY at the quality of the sound and most importantly the improved performance of my car. I wanted to offer some photos of the entire installation from start to finish to give everybody an idea of the quality of the US MADE STAINLESS STEEL RPI SYSTEM and also a good look at the underbody of a BMW M3 Stock system. Many thanks to Eloy who allowed me full shop access to take photos every step of the way during installation. I know there is another thread here on the RPI Race Exhaust but nothing definitive on the Section 3. I'm hopeful that this thread can serve that purpose. My goal is also to have some professional videos done with
In the 3 days I've had this exhaust, I've been stopped by no less than 10 people who have said "HOLY SHIT-THAT'S AMAZING". And when I say it, I mean it. John "Macfly" from many of the Forums was walking with his wife in Old Town Pasadena yesterday when he heard me come down Colorado Blvd. He ran to the curb to see "the Lambo" and saw my ride and quickly BB IMed me and said "Look to the Right on the Curb" while I was sitting at a light. I parked and chatted with him for about 30 minutes and he couldn't believe how sick it sounded. It's not super loud and menacing like the RPI Race Exhaust. It's just deep-throaty and F1 exotic at WOT. There is not a hint of "American Muscle Car" sound and best of all-- there no noticeable drone at idle. There is a slight drone in the "Drone Range" of V-8's (1800-2500 RPM). But those are just my words and y'all need to hear it. Here are the videos I have taken with our HD Canon Digital Camera. Reving [u2b][/u2b] Inside the Car with Windows Rolled Up [u2b][/u2b] Top Down [u2b][/u2b] Launch and Drive Away(Only got the first 6-7 seconds due to cars coming behind me [u2b][/u2b] You'll notice a slight "tinning/tinging" noise in some instances as my buddy was revving the engine. This VIDEO DOES the EXHAUST ZERO JUSTICE compared to what it sounds like in person. You must trust me when I say there is absolutely NO RASP or "Tinning" when driving around. People are coming up mad dogging me like "WTF" do you have under the hood of that beast? I also have "Murdered the Tips" Satin Black as you can see in the Exhaust Video. I will be posting HD videos in this thread over the next couple of weeks comparing my car and fellow Member "M-World"'s RPI GT Race Exhaust. It will be a very good thread for people to judge the difference in sound of the GT Full Exhaust vs just the section 3 Axle Back. The sound is truly unmatched and the power I gained is incredibly noticeable. My car breathes so much better with the stock exhaust gone. And combined with my AA Tune-Matt Schnell Filter, AA Pulley and RPI Scoops, she is just a monster. Don't take my word for it though, the DYNO will have the ultimate say! The plan is to Dyno it at RPI within the next two weeks to allow time for my system to adjust to the new breathing pattern. It will be even more interesting to know what kind of power(if any)the other mods are making in combo with the exhaust. A couple of things to mention. RPI is considering an X-Pipe with 2ndary Cat Delete which would likely be a "Must Have" add on to this Section 3 System. I seriously contemplated the Gintani Axle Back and also the Remus Race.(Both very high quality systems in their own right) With Remus, the thought of cutting the pipes and using clamps just didn't sit well with me. Alex at Gintani is a great guy and I know they make a high quality system but the feedback I got from many guys in So Cal on the RPI Axle Back was what sealed the deal for me. And it's also very good peace of mind for me to know if anything goes wrong, I can see Eloy locally at his shop whenever necessary. Now that it's installed, I'm so glad I went with Eloy and RPI. And before you ask, I spent the last 3.5 months analyzing exhaust systems and listening to other people's cars with various systems installed. The RPI Axle Back System is IMO, the best sounding bolt on exhaust you can install for the money. (I don't work for RPI and I gain nothing from any of my commentary from RPI-unless you count the two RPI Flag stickers I got to run on my car. I'd appreciate your comments and thoughts. I'm happy to meet up with anybody in So Cal to let you hear it. Here are the install pics.

That sounds soooo sick!! I'm just waiting on Rogue's system to be released until I make up my mind on which exhaust I want. But I know that it will definitely be one of the two.

Anyone know if they are going to have an E90 version? It doesn't look like the tips are adjustable from the pics.

WOW
I've been driving all over LA the past 4 days visiting clients.
I've been on the 405 in West LA, the 101 in the SFV, the 210 in SGV and 110 in Downtown back to Pasadena. People are literally RAVING about the SOUND of this EXHAUST! Dudes drive up to me and give me the at least once an hour! I was at the Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills late this afternoon and my client grabbed a new F430 and drove with me over to their Porsche/Audi store in Woodland Hills . He told me when we parked he literally couldn't discern the difference between my car and the Ferrari. He asked me what I had done to the engine to make it sound like a FERRARI!!!!!!!! Fellas if any of you are holding out or still considering an exhaust that:
Call Eloy immediately and reserve one of the last couple of Axle Back Exhausts he has left in stock. I promise you, it will be the best $1750 bucks you'll ever spend on this car. I'm saddened and ashamed I didn't do this sooner!

Where did he say stage 3? He said section 3, which this is the 3rd section of the exhaust system as a whole.
Headers = 1 Midpipes = 2 Rear Section w/ Mufflers = 3 -Andy
