ESS vt2-585 kit being installed monday

Having a bit of "anxiety" about the install of my ESS vt2-585 kit this coming Monday.......the shop has never installed one before. Any last minute tips, tricks, or advice from anyone with experience with this kit or the install of it? Any info would be appreciated.

Tell them to follow the manual. If they do they should be fine make sure you do your SC oil break in change after the first 2k-3k miles. I almost forgot and had to be reminded.

I just had my 625 kit installed last week (thanks BMW135er for the EXCELLENT install). Aside from the oil change and limited hard driving for the first 200 miles, are there any other break in considerations? PS... Fricken love the kit so far.

One piece of advice I can throw your way is give the car sufficient adaptation time. It is really that important.

Correct

The ECU will need to adapt to the software re-flash so just drive normal for the first 300-500 miles or so. You do not have to baby it but try not to beat on it really hard right away. You can run the car up thru the RPM's and have some fun but just keep in mind the car will not be 100% until it fully adapts.

I've seen this mentioned a lot. Does the car act really funny during preadaptation? Just curious so once I get my kit I don't freak out.

No, it just gradually releases the power as the reprogrammed tables are Learned.
Other then that it rides and feels stock.

Cheers
