i dunno dude, I think I would pass. Even if the car is fine, with a bad carfax you're gonna get hosed if you ever want to sell or trade...

Pass. There's plenty of E93 on the market, why even take a chance?

True, but doesn't the price and amount of miles make it an attractive offer?

In CA, damage or accidents aren't reported to the DMV (and subsequently Carfax) unless the damage exceeds $1000. Just an FYI.

I'd pass on an E93.

You may have been kidding...but the price would scare me away more than it would attract me. Something doesn't add up. KBB says even a stripper version would be about 4-5k above that.

I actually almost bought an m6, which they still have listed. I didn't read anything about accidents until someone told me. I think that's their gig, selling sports cars with accident reports...idk. Kinda like H Gregg auto auction, prices seem very good until something pops up.

Anyhow, good luck and in my experience it's worth paying a little more and having peace of mind that car wasn't in a major accident.

Regards

That place is only a few miles from me, and while I know a few people that have bought cars from them, I would skip any car they have that says "previous accident".

I paid less than that for my 08 e90 m3 MINT and with less miles; If you search, and are willing to travel there are great deals out there.

A car backed into me in the parking lot less than 10mph. Dented my hood. That alone was over $1000 and is now on my car fax as "accident". So you kind of have to look into the accident case by case.

FWIW, I was in an accident with my 07 E92 335i in which it sustained $30,000.00 in damage to the front end. Carfax shows no accident history. You can't rely on Carfax, it's worthless IMO.

No, it's way overpriced for a car with a history.

Carfax are not worthless. They can serve to steer you away from a problem car faster, easier and cheaper than a PPI. that being said, the carfax should never be oyour only means of a car inspection. IMO

As someone who has purchase two accident cars from offleaseonly.com all I can say is you get what you pay for and I mean that in the positive way. i bought an 08' Z4M and my current E93. both had carfax accident history. I had both checked out professionally and my body shop guy said work was minor, non structural and no issue for using the car. So you get the car cheaper now, and when you go to sell you get less money as well. for me I was very happy to get mine for $41,999 last December.

Also, since it is a late model 08' the factory warranty runs 50k or 1/13, so you could get inspection 2 and other work done in the next 9 months for free.

I would call Life Quality BMW and give them the vin and ask what work has been done on teh car. Some dealers will tell you alot.

Thanks for the tip. Why life quality BMW tho? I called BMW North America and they wouldnt tell me if it was under warranty even unless I was the registered owner. What gives!

Thanks everyone for the priceless advice! Y'all are the best!!!

If this car checks out then I'm gonna keep it and drive it until the wheels fall off! Do you know if offleaseonly gets their cars at some type of "accident history" car auctions? I'd like to believe what some of the salesmen say, but after having spoken to some of them about the same car, it's obvious some of them are making stuff up. For example, the carfax shows that the car was sold in early april and then it shows that it was at the dealership again in May. I called them to ask what was up with that and then said that it was sold without proper financing, and that it had nothing with it being a "bad car." When I asked another salesman about it, he said that they have no record as to why, and said it was probably just a computer error. This seems awfully suspicious to me...

I think maybe someone returned the car because of problems, has anyone ever seen anything like this before?

Why life quality BMW tho?

because per the carfax they serviced the vehicle. Plus the carfax gives the in service date so you can tell the warranty. As an aside, I found both my cars previous owners through the data they left behind on the nav system.
