Does BMW Tracking list all options?
Hey so I'm somewhat freaking out, the tracking on my BMW just went from "on order" to "start of production" and it lists the options, but does not list the Competition Package that I had selected. My dealer is closed till Monday, as is BMWUSA's customer service. I was hoping someone could tell me whether or not it lists all options or just some... specifically if it should list the Competition Package. I have included a picture for reference. Thank you for your help!

Dont bother following it on that. Its always wrong in terms of options and tracking. Calling the 800 number is always the best way to confirm options and get tracking.
The build sheet that your dealer gave you is what you are getting. Make sure that is correct.

Yep. same thing. CA told me that it would show up as a different model, and that the options would never be available to me. I just finished production and it still says I'm on order. Don't even bother with the online site.

not sure why BMW can't get their act together and make the website show the correct options... also, I had a strange experience where the website said my car was at the VPC but the 800 number told me it was still awaiting shipping. The car was in fact at the VPC but even the live rep on the 800 number couldn't tell me that, only that the car had been released to the shipping company and was not "awaiting shipment" as the automated message stated.
Seems like this shouldn't be that hard... I don't need to know each step in the factory, just the major steps should update correctly. A simple scan of the VIN should be enough to log where the car actually is in production. If UPS and FedEx can do it (hell, even the US Postal Service can do it pretty well) you would think BMW could...

In my experience if you are car made it to the VPC, all bets are off on tracking it past the VPC. Just assume you will have your car within 10 days of unloading at port.

Yeah, I understand once it hits the VPC that it's difficult to track. The fact that the website said it was at the VPC but the 800 number told me it hadn't left Germany was odd IMO.
