Have a Canon Rebel XTi and...

I still have the "stock" lens on it and i wanted to know
what a good lens is to buy, im going to whistler, canada
for vacation on saturday and was hoping to buy a new
lens before i leave for the trip

please pm me if you know of a nice lens

Depends what you plan on shooting or what your goals are. With what i shoot, i never have the use for zoom so i tend to stay more with the wide angle lenses. But that also does not mean i can just have 1 10-22mm lens and shoot with it 24/7. Anything in particular you are looking for? Zoom, walk around lens, wide angle, shoot mostly in low light conditions, macro, scenic/nature, etc etc?

FWIW, my walk around lens is a 17-40L.
