My car lives on a tender. I'm probably going to do one of the lighter BMW options that I linked to. We'll see...

Ew. The steering wheels on the F8x Ms look cheap and flimsy. Would not retro even if I could.

Well This is not my expertise, but just as a caution:

I read this on another post couple of weeks ago,

Btw... the Li-Ion battery can not be retrofitted to other BMW models. This is bc the charging system(SW and alternator) is different on the F8x models in order to charge the Li-Ion battery to 14.8 volts.

IF one were to install a Li-Ion battery in another (BMW)car... the battery would not last very long and it would be ruined.

Wheels would probably work.

Would be sick if it's possible to fit the carbon rotors and brake calipers. Hopefully only an adapter is needed, can't wait for someone to start fiddling around with these parts.

I'd like to steal the mpg and the carbon fiber drivetrain additions but neither of those are possible. Everything else about the f8x is a step backwards to me and there is nothing I want. Oh the touch sensitive iDrive knob would be cool to have.

Don't you already have a touch sensitive knob?

The knob on the new cars is basically like a laptop's touchpad. You can use finger gestures on it.

It takes more than just fingers to make my knob work.

I noticed that the new M3's and e9x's share the same door handle. So does the new 2 series. Not sure what else may be interchangeable.

Why don't you just steal an F80 altogether? Might be easier than hacking up a perfectly bland car.

The honest way about it would be to have your parents buy it for you. That way you can race a M5 on the grand central parkway.
