Glad he is ok, pretty funny video. I would have burned it. By reading all of these comments you would think that no one here was ever young and/or made stupid decisions while behind the wheel. My bet is that most of us have done this or come close at some point.

I noticed the hoodie thing as well, lol. Let's give the kid a break though. Good that he's ok.

It's sad to say but I can't stop laughing at the passenger screaming in the video "OH MY GOD!!!!". It was probably his m3 and the real idiot responsible for allowing this to happen.

+1!

Looking at the video, it's pretty obvious that he is driving on that canyon road for the FIRST time!

If he has been driving on that canyon road for quite some time, he could have turned left even before reaching the top of the next turn, but he just went straight. He really thought that the road was straight before he crashed.

I am pretty sure that this is his first time driving on that road since he was basically CLUELESS on what was ahead of him.

the only real dumbass is the father who allows his 19 year kid to drive a car like the M3
when i was 19 i had a car that had 50hp
a 1 liter 4 cyl egine
and slowly worked my way up to the M3
i had 50, then 55, then 110, then 215, then 265, then 414hp
because i sure did some stupid things when i was 19
but with only 50hp i couldn't do much damage
i once hit a lamp post (lamp posts fault) and i don't think i even scraped the paint of the lamp post

on another note
the go-pro suction mount sucks!!

Kid needs to slow down, respect the road and learn how to drive more, but I promise 1/2 the ppl on this forum bagging on him have pulled the same stupid sh1t and just got lucky. I know tons of men in their 30-40's driving straight up wrecklessly in their F and P cars (like 120 on a 45mph), but just happen to know how to drive and have good cars that stop FAST. Looked like he was following good lines (disregarding the fact it was a 2 lane road) and just miscalculated the hill = air = no steering.

When I was in HS parents in my area were buying their kids BRAND NEW e46 M3's (Asian mentality -> good grades = good rewards)... and some ended up around trees. At least this car was probably a good 10 years old and around $20k vs. a brand new e92 and what not.

I was very fortunately many years ago and went half with my dad on a 2 year old e46 M3 when I was 19. Thankfully I was accident free all those years but had many close calls. I ended up selling my car when i was 24. With a developing career past my mid 20's, I have definitely calmed down a lot but am not going to lie - still go on spirited drives and fast runs down the freeway, but with a lot more caution, responsibility and definitely a ton to lose after working so hard these past years.

I just think the kid needs to learn his lesson this time around, and ensure it doesn't happen again. My 2 cents.

But seriously, when I was 16 I punched through our home garage door with my fifteen year old VW Jetta (Wolfsburg Edition FTW) because I thought I was in reverse when really in first - huge sloping driveway, so I had to launch. WHO GETS AN M3 AT 16 THOUGH!?!?!?

I'm sure no one has taken it to that level on a roadway but you all know he have pushed it in some way or form, even if it was just for a second... Sometimes it only takes a second.
thing is half the people on the forum do not push their cars

Bad driver error...has nothing to do with age. I guarantee the younger drivers on the forum are better than the older drivers. Learning to drive on a sports car makes you a better driver than learning to drive on a piece of shit peasant car.
