M3 for Range Rover Sport
I know this is a BMW forum but being a long time BMW owner (and E90 poster) I wanted to share a recent change with the board. I'm curious about the reactions.
I had a 2011 M3 ZCP on order. 2 weeks before it arrived I had a revelation of wanting to change to a Range Rover Sport so I headed to Range Rover and ended up walking away with a 2011 Range Rover Sport HSE LUX. 375 HP 375 LB FT Torque. Opened up this engine sounds beefy as hell. The mods I have done so far are adding running boards, exhaust tips (not shown in pics), 20% tint all around, mud flaps, 22" Vossens, and Yokos for the tires. I'm currently working on a custom exhaust to open up the V8 even more. I have previously owned 2 M3s and prior to getting the RRS I owned a 335i that I had quite few mods on as well. I have driven the E93 M3 a number of times and absolutely love the car and was excited when I ordered mine...but I have to be honest and say I absolutely love the Range Rover. The handling is of course nothing like the M3 but it actually handles way better than you would imagine. Very responsive and sporty and hardly any cabin roll which is what surprised me the most. I kite surf so having the extra room to throw all of my gear and have my woman and 2 year old son AND room to spare is a very welcomed change. Just curious if anyone else on here has made a jump like this? Here are a couple of pics:

Nice car. we have 2 in the family (one is a 2011, and the upgrades are huge). Not sure how your priorities changed so much, but good to hear that you're happy with the switch. My only complaint about the rr sports is the cramped interior. I'm not even six feet tall and i find them lacking in shoulder room. Nevertheless, awesome car. Congrats.

Good luck with it...although you may be spending more time with it at the dealer in service than on the road.

I decided to get both use that and my hummer on snowy days...the range rover sport is an incredible car no complaints I have a 2011 also. And honestly I think it's better in the snow then the H2, also it's pretty quick for the lack of the super charger in mine :/

Almost went for the RR Sport S/C during the wait of my M3. Just thought it should have driven sportier since its up against vehicles such as the Cayenne-which drives amazingly. Glad I stayed with the M though.
Congrats on your vehicle. Its gorgeous. I can't wait to own a RR some day.

Congrats. We owned a bunch of RRs and my Father-in-law has the RR Sport. Plan on knowing your SA very well at the RR dealer (seriously - become friends with the guy) - these cars make BMWs feel like Hondas.

I had a range sport, hated it after the first couple weeks. Handling is so awful eventually switched out for an X6 which was so much better. In either case it's a matter of taste and they do look very nice. Congratulations!

I own a 2011 RR Sport HSE (pic below) and I love this car as it does everything so well one minute I am down the forest with my dog the next I am in London going out for a meal with friends, I have said since owning the sport that if I had to choose between the M3 and the Sport I would have the sport! But I am fortunate enough not to have to choose
My M3 and GTR as well
