If I wanted him dead. Advanced group has to be able to manage passing anywhere and that obviously isn't the case here. Its should only take one session to get him moved if there is any kind of leadership present.

Plus, I just learned how to drive stick, but suddenly, I'm a legendary MT driver now and y'all DCT drivers are soccer moms.

Nothing wrong with spewing a little profanity and idiotic drivers I think in many ways it helps bleed off some of that aggression rather than exercising it via aggressive driving.

Speed Ventures is usually good about this though (and we did get a dipshit in an M5 bumped for the same crap after session 1), so don't take this incident as representative of most of their track days. Auto Club Speedway just attracts the shallow end of the gene pool.

i think it should be car based and skill based then sorted out after the first session if a mistake has been made. at least thats how it works most days with us. new guy in a gt3 can still get owned by a e36 with and advanced driver and most dont represent themselves accurately.

WHAT THE FUGGG LOL
Funny stuff. Truth is people put themselves in whatever run group they want/think they belong to and this kind of stuff happens. When I run into one of those guys, I go talk to the boss and before they know it they're re-classed into a lower run group "because people have complained" Aaron takes care of this but you have to let him know. |

Not a big fan of CA Speedway as I enjoy more technical tracks like Buttonwillow and Spring Mountain (waiting to head out to Chuckwalla in late Sept though...). Anyhow, even though I have the car that can easily run a time in the top of the red/green group I know my skill level is not there so I run in the purple/black group where no one really passes me and I can focus on the line and improving my skills (getting passed seems to throw off my concentration). I've noticed some of the guys in the red/green groups can be overly aggressive when it comes to tracking and I'm not keen on putting myself and my car at risk. When I'm ready to turn off the auto save, I'll probably go down to the blue group so I can feel comfortable not going all out while I learn what the car is capable of.

Dood, you're not as fast as me. I have mastered Enduro on the Atari and also GT3 academy. I've also been to two track weekends. Once I bleed my brakes I will pass you on the inside line in the wet.

maybe he messed up when signing up and didn't read / realize what the different groups meant.
that guy looks like this was probably his first time on track. that has got to be a really bad feeling for him out there. he obviously knew he was out of his element and was probably driving even worse than usual because of all the traffic around him |

Occasionally people do get released into the wrong groups and they don't mean or want to be there -- this guy was just a douche.

IMO, this sort of "disagreement" is best either worked out in private, or with the organizers. Calling out other fellow track enthusiasts, no matter how douche-y, leads to bad carma.
Believe it or not, at one point or another we all started out the same, all a bunch of clueless noobs who think they're god's gift to driving, only to have their heads handed to them by REAL drivers. Now, if the driver in the video had followed the guy for like 1/2 a lap screaming "NEMESIS!" on video, then that's something worth posting, IMO.

Yes, we all started as clueless noobs and had the guy not been such an arrogant DB, I wouldn't have felt compelled to post the video. Oh and, there was no way that I would be following him for 1/2 a lap...

The clueless noob in question didn't seem to realize he was getting his ass handed to him. And I wouldn't call him a "track enthusiast", unfortunately. The vast majority of track goers are wonderful people, and I wouldn't feel the least bit bad if certain bad apples (such as this one) were offended and never returned.
