I just noticed that the head rests are different in the new M3 catalogue. The 09 headrest looks more square. The 2008 headrest is more shapely. Compare the new catalogue interior with interior of what is posted under the image gallery on BMWUSA.com.

i was just about to post the same exact thing! wow, that is weird. guess the coupe gets all the interior adjustments like the sedan too though, including the new headlight switch and the start/stop button.

i am not a fan of the headrests. they look really blocky.

Yeah, I don't like the new block look either, but not a deal breaker of course.

looks like 3648lbs with a kg to lb conversion. US spec is 3704 currently. i guess we can't be sure until the us spec vehicle weight is posted because who knows what BMW is going to change. good find with all of this twistastick.

Catalogue also states the 3 options for the navigation. The US market ususally only gets the top navigation option which includes 8.8 inch color widescreen with arrow and 3D map display.

Fuel consumption 9.2 liters/100 km = 25.5668025 miles/gallon(US) (extra urban). I wish everyone could get this kinda gas mileage, but we all know this isn't true.

You picked the WRONG car if your that worried about weight.

On another note, I am glad I bought my car before these changes were made.

+1 Especially about the weight of the i-drive!! That can't possibly be 1 pound heavier or lighter. Even if its a formula 1, one pound is close to no difference. Much less in an M3.

i'll bet it is more than 1 pound heavier or lighter, but i agree that it will be negligible. like i just said, its just a matter of curiosity.

Wow, it is truly amazing the amount of Photoshop BMW AG uses in this brochure. ALL the photos are from the 2008 catalog with Photoshop of new tail-lights on the sedan, new iDrive, headlight switch...

Actually, I remember that the 2008 catalog showed the interior without iDrive whereas the French one had the same photo with iDrive.

Well, they're active headrests, so it's a improved safety feature.

BTW: According to that catalogue the new iDrive doesn't seem to add weight, it's still at 1,655 kg.

Best regards, south

Yeah, I guess safety is good

I'm sure that the iDrive is negligible. I was just curious for the hell of it.

"real-life"?

You mean owner or pre-production pics and not like the PR ones on the first page of this thread?

If so, not yet. 2009s are being shipped to US now, and some are probably being delivered in Europe by next week. We should see some pics of new Le Mans cars very soon.

2009s are already being delivered in Europe and have been since last Monday at least. I'm sure that LMBs are out there somewhere, hopefully someone sees one on the road or gets theirs delivered soon...I am curious to see it as well.

Great, I'm anxious to see them also.

Where'd you see the info about '09s being delivered in Europe? I haven't been paying too close attention but I figured it be pretty big news on the forum.
