What's wrong with people now and days??? You truly know M3s are becoming more affordable when this place starts turning into a Honda civic forum.

Make sure to go full throttle, turn off your targeting computer and use the FORCE.

That's the only way it can be done. Those FluxCapicitor Guys are just pulling your leg.

I rather not even bother... go for the gold kid, break a leg and make sure you come back and tell all of us how it went.

Well I haven't gotten a speeding ticket in 13 years and I've never been in an accident. I only drive fast with no one around. I don't race people and I don't drive fast in the city. Why should it matter how fast I drive if there no one around?

OP I think you need to quantify what your meaning is. Are you purposing hitting 130MPH then hitting the start/stop button to power the car off and coast?

No. Just stopped at the train tracks 1 minute after driving fast. It just seems like the engine would be hotter than normal after driving fast so it would be better for the car to idle vs turning off.

Ok, my next question would be this? Why would you by a car that gets 14 city 19 highway if you are worries about saving gas or money on it?

I'm not too worried about saving gas. But if I am going to be sitting at a light for a while I don't want to waste gas for no reason.

The engine turns off when not needed and everything.

The speed limit is set to 103 mph on the Prius. No thanks.

If you care about gas mileage, you bought the wrong car.

Auto start/stop won't auto-stop if the engine temp is high, so no worries there.
Shutting the engine off at speed can be done if absolutely necessary (mythical stuck throttle?) but a bad idea since the brakes are less effective and the steering heavier. (I have actually had to do that in an 80's Mustang at maybe 60MPH when it broke a belt... I don't recommend it at all.)

It sucks to have to get gas 10 miles from home because they put a tiny gas tank in a car that can't get 20MPG on the highway.

No problem going 130 and leaving start stop on.

It has advanced logic built in.
