front lip

Thinking of getting a front lip this year. So far I'm leaning towards the Mode Carbon VS1. any other I should consider? post some pics.

also, for those who live and DD in the snow. do you take it off in the winter. I don't want my car to turn into a plow machine. this coming winter will be the last winter I DD the M. finances will allow me to get a regular DD in 2016. should I wait to get the lip till then?

If it's not the oem splitters I think mode carbon makes the nicest quality CF lips.

Unless you're at stock height, you might as well just shred the money because that splitter is going to get trashed. There's a polyurethane one out there that can take a hit; it's the only one I'd get after trashing a splitter.

Clearance is pretty good with the Mode Carbon. Had mines on for almost 2 months and no issues. Looks extremely clean and one of the best lips on the market imo. My car only has drop springs, not sure how it'll be in snow since i live in Hawaii :thump:
some pictures installed

Get a poly lip. Mode are nice but too much $$ for an identical lip you can get elsewhere for cheaper.

I live in CT & dd my M3 through the winter & through every snow storm. At stock height, I went through more lips than I could count due to potholes & generally shitty roads where I live. Now I'm dropped on KW HAS's & have a replica challenge lip put on. Scraping it quite often. It'll probably be a plow this winter due to its low clearance. I'd recommend getting a FRP/poly lip due to the fact it could take a beating. Mode Carbon makes one, Challenge does too, & there are many replicas like forcewerkz that are.

^^ What he said. I'd consider looking into either one of these:

I recently bought a Mode Carbon FRP V1 lip and the fitment is horrible and they aren't willing to do anything about it. So fair warning. I wish someone would have told me. I plan on making a review read when I get time.

I've never had fitment issues with Mode Carbon. I've installed 2x of the GTS V1 lips in CF on my car and they've both been spot on. Pics of your fitment issues?

I'm going to have to find time to create a thread which I absolutely intend to do. My lips fitment is incredibly poor, there is a 1/2 inch gap on one end and the front doesn't sit flush with the bumper. Mode Carbon blamed it on BMW having variances in their bumpers, doubtful, and was unwilling to do anything about it after spending $600 and waiting over a month for delivery because of supposed quality control issues.
