Thanks! Nah, they've always been gunmetal straight from HRE. Reason I really like them is because they match Sparkling Graphite very well.

Hi all,
as I am just about to achieve the 75k mark, I figured I would chime in, especially since I have a question for you folks. Here it goes: e92 June 2008 build ~75,000 miles ~35 track days (mostly intermediate and advanced group) Daily commute is 80 highway / 20 city Follow "Old School Maintenance" with: - oil changes every 7,500 miles - tranny + diff oil changes every 30,000 miles - new sparks at 37,000 ... so I am due for new ones - replaced both front wheel bearing at ~60,000 - several sets of rotors Uses 1 qt of oil every 4-5,000 miles You can also check my Blackstone oil reports here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=310230" rel="ugc" target="_blank">http://<a href="http://www.m3post.co...p?t=310230</a> Now, here is where it gets interesting: - Had the clutch replaced at ~73,000 as I started to feel that the car was not as "smooth" when up/downshifting as it used to be (had no slippage at all). Also felt that the clutch's engagement point was way to high, but it seems that in fact this is standard on the model. Since I thought that the track days did warrant the new clutch, I just went ahead with it (BTW, please keep in mind that 08's require you to buy a new flywheel....so this may help you decide to get the extended warranty or not... just saying). - Unfortunately, the new clutch did not really fix the "symptoms" I feel with the car and which include: *feel/hear like a low frequency grinding that is speed-dependant and which I hear especially between 0-20 mph (after that I think that the other noises just cover it) but I seem to feel the vibrations from this "grinding" in the seat of my pants all the time * the car does feel much more "notchy" and less smooth when I let off the gas than what it used to be (i.e., it seems that there is more engine break than there used to be and as a result, the trans get jerked more than it was before) * switching gear up/downshifting is just not as smooth as it used to be... While I do not believe that I suddenly forgot how to use a manual *.... interestingly, my engine also seems to run a bit higher temps than it used to be, especially in these colder mornings, so I am a bit confused. Long story short, the car feels different and I am now getting paranoid about what it is. I will have to bring it to the dealer, but it will not be easy to describe these things... except that I know my car very very well and it now feels different than a while ago. Can anybody relate to this experience or am I simply crazy and am worried for no reason??

Maybe it's worn diff mount bushings or transmission mount bushings (if this car has that sort of thing).

82k miles now. Definite increase in DCT transmission whine on mine now that weather is turning cold. It's new this year - never happened in the past. Never changed the "lifetime" fluid; wondering if maybe I should.
