Insurance Cost on M3 in UK?

So I just got off the phone with my insurance company for a quote on a 2012 M3 and they stated it was gonna cost me £1510 per year. Does that sound about right? I\'m only paying £820 on my 6 litre Vaxhuall Monaro. The insurance on an M3 is almost double.

it depends on so much more than just the car - age, claims, postcode, mileage, job etc etc
i am 48 and pay £750 with full no claims (no tracker)

Well, I'm 31 without claims, plan on driving 8K miles per year, and work in the military. I doubt that equates to a £1510 / yr policy. Oh well, I may just have to shop around, or I will have to pay to play.

Admiral always seem to do fairly well in these situations.

Having said that, I've changed to LV as they were quite a bit cheaper and Admiral were not interested in improving their renewal quote by much.

Hope it's a lot cheaper this time round though.

Oh god thats high, I used to pay that as my premium for my 997S. Since swapping out the M3 dropped to a touch over £1K. My London postcode does my premium no favours though. Who you with?

Yeah Admiral seems the best. I pay £428 with protected (full) no claims, tracker, no accidents. This is on a dual car policy. The other car is my daughter's 1.4 Polo which costs £720. I don't think that is bad for 19 year old with one accident/claim. The key thing is I'm 51 of course - but still think this would be hard to beat.

Try sky insurance. I'm 26 and they insured me for £1,000 with a £450 excess with 5 years NCB.

where you live has a massive factor, more than any other than NCB, on the price. if you are inside the M25 add a 400quid to baseline purely because the amount of cars stolen in this region is higher than the rest of the country.

I also wonder if the insurance companies would charge a higher premium for LHD US or a German Spec M3.

mate 1500 quid a year isnt bad?

It totally depends on how old you are? im 21 mate and im getting quote for 5000 for a m3 so consider yourself lucky.

Its a group 20 car, it has huge emissions, hence the huge tax price. Its a top of the line, expensive to replace/fix car, hence why the price is more than your run around.

guys and gals - you're all doing really well - I'm in north london, 40, 10+ yrs ncb, and just started looking at quotes tonight...first one was 2,381 with compulsory 750 excess, second (BMW) is 1,827 all if paid in full..

currently with admiral on 2 car policy so will see what the renewal comes in at....

am thinking or refinancing my car with oracle car finance - they sent me an email the other day with a free car insurance offer....we will see if this works....

I'd be happy with anything less than a grand for our type of car......
