I notice when I ask a pharmacist questions during a consultation they either don't know what I am talking about or just repeat what is on the insert.

"Studies have shown that when a pharmacist is directly involved in patient care, patients have fewer adverse drug reactions, experience improved outcomes, and healthcare costs are reduced."

What studies show this? Pharmacists see hundreds of people a day, they're suppose to know peoples adverse reaction to certain drugs, how? How are health care cost reduced? I'm not knocking this petition but what do pharmacists plan on getting out if this?

.. Reading some of the comments on that page makes me wary. What do they mean about patient intervention? Is this implying that pharmacists overturn medication a physician prescribed? Not sure I agree with that.

...I need to read up more on this.

I thought the computer they use is what flags drug interactions.
