Soon to be new owner!!

Well I pick up my 2008 AW m3 on tuesday. Found locally by a retired military pilot. Always garaged and dealer maintained. It's fully loaded with red int and the only thing I was worried about is its auto so that was new to me I just sold my c6z06 so it's going to be different but I kinda like it..is there any thing I should be worried about or little probs, kinda new to the m3 scene..also looking for wheels and suspension now..gotta have it sittin right.. Also picked it up for 39k which for the condition I feel is pretty good...thanks.

Congrats and post pics and build specs. Nice color / interior combo.

By Auto, I assume you mean the transmission is DCT. If so, I think you will find it interesting. I had an '08 M3 w/DCT. Make sure with your local Dealership that you have the latest software version to avoid any "lag".

Enjoy your new M3!

^ You will need to see your local BMW Dealer and ask them.

There is a "Sticky" in this section of the Forum that addresses the M-DCT "Lag" issue in much greater detail. You may want to read it. With the proper software update the issue has been resolved.

I went from manual C5 to an fully loaded AW DCT M3. You won't have any trouble getting used to the DCT. Read the manual and play with the various M settings until you find which are right for you. There's so much to this car, it can be a little overwhelming.
Sometimes I miss shifting manually, but the precision and the way the DCT shifts more than makes up for any shortcomings. It's lightning fast. Also, you'll love the way DCT rev matches when downshifting.
Check with BMW whether your car was part of the recall for DCT and go to the dealer and get the updated software. It will alleviate all the problems that you may have already read about on this board. Congrats and post up some pics.

I didn't think the corvette community sucked, some good and bad like any other group.

You will find there is a Suspension Forum here as well. I would suggest you go over to that Forum and do some reading, it's really informative. All depends on what you are looking to do with your M3.

Good luck,
Chris
