What is up with this shit?

My order was in 4/26.

STILL hasn't began production yet and its been over 3 weeks. Is this normal? Website says on order, and my CA gave me the code number 112 on wednesday. Which means still awaiting production basically. What do you guys think? Im pretty pissed but this.

UPDATE:

How long does it take from production complete to port? Do you guys think ill make the June 8th ship? If not then June 15th.
Car finished production on May 31st.

Here are the dates:

4/26 ORDERED
5/24 Production started
5/31 Production finished
6/1 Realeased to distribution (train to Bremmerhaven)

Your dealer sold you a car that they did not have -i.e., as in an allocation.

Take your money elsewhere if you want it quicker.

Yeah, I ordered one on 5/12 and it "started production" on 5/19.
Without an allocation you are at the end of the line...

Take it easy. This is M3 you ordered, not 335. It's very normal for coupe/sedan to take at least 3 weeks before going into production. Expect to take delivery if you are east coast between 6-8 weeks, and 9 weeks if you are west coast.

Got lucky and got a car that the dealer had an allocation for that went into production the week after i ordered. Allocations generally happen monthly. Going to another dealer isn't necessarily going to get a car into production any sooner. Ordered mine 4/2. Will take delivery next week.

yeah i just spoke to some person from BMWNA, he said that its in the LAST stage before entering production. He said it should begin very soon. patience is key, and you guys are right, its an M3. Whatever about 4 weeks left. Going to try and not think about it as much. Time flies anyways.

It is normal and their online tracking site sucks! The worse tracking system I have ever seen especially when buying such an expensive car.

Yea, I ordered from Paul Miller. You might be who my friend spoke about. You ordered Dakar yellow correct? A friend of mine was at Wendy's on route 23 during those mini car shows. I think he spoke to your father because he told him that his son had ordered a Dakar yellow m3 about 2 months ago.

Anyway, yeah the wait is torturing.

I here you, try putting deposit in Oct 2010 , and not getting the dealers only allocation until Oct 2011, now that's pissed off. 1M wait. Wish I could afford the 3 awesome cars good luck!!

I'll never understand why people like you decide to post some stupid shit like this. I am 'relaxed', I'm just excited and want time to go faster.

My M3 finished production on or about 05/28. It has been at port of exit awaiting a vessel since on or about 05/29 or 05/30. Since then the 800 number has been giving erroneous info and a customer relations person states it may or may not already be on a boat and he can't track it anymore. The CA states it's still at port of exit. When I load my VIN into the WW shipping site I get no record found. In other words I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE MY CAR IS. If anyone can offer me some assistance it would be greatly appreciated.

You ordered your car a day later than me and it finished production 3 days sooner! They'll probably be on the same boat though.

Haha makes me feel a little better considering the fact it took 4 weeks to begin production! We'll probably be on same vessel, hopefully we make the June 8th ship.
