Thinking of buying a e92 M3 agian! am i crazy??

So i sold my 08 m3 this past fall. My plans for this year changed now i find myself back in the used car market looking for another ride. Told myself id never buy the same car twice but for the price range im having a difficult time finding a MANUAL sports car that can compare to the M overall.... maybe an z06.

Would anyone here buy an 2008-2011) M3 after owning one in the past?
For around 35k what comes close. z06, 996tt, anything else?

For $35K I don't think there is anything on the market that can compare. Even the new Ford Mustangs cost more, and are over $50 for the GT350, which look like a hell of a ride.

For 35k there are a lot of viable 911 options. They will be sharper handling, but prolly won't have the engine the m3 does. But then again, sans the weight, as well.

Lots of cars now pull the m3 numbers for similar money. Back in 2008 there were comparisons to mustangs on track, etc. obviously not the full package, but you can prolly get one for like $8k these days, haha

Let rephrase your question if I might;

I had one of the best times in my life with this incredible sexy woman that left an indelible impression on my mind. Should I seek out another incredible sexy woman like her or settle for mediocrity?

What about an e46? Been close to getting one for a long time. Or an e39 M5?

My car enthusiast friends and I talk about this all the time: "if your car got stolen/wrecked, would you buy another one?"

My answer is always, "Yes, I would find the exact same car and buy it."

My '09 M3 got totaled last year, so I had the option of getting another car in that price range. I couldn't think of anything else I'd rather have so I got an '11 M3. Still can't think of anything else I'd rather have in this price range!

If my M3 was totaled I would buy another M3. Albeit in a more unique color, but an M3 nonetheless.

Unfortunately this is the state of BMW these days -- their best drivers cars are mostly in the past. The era that gave us the e39, e46, e86, and e9x will probably never come back.

If you only let me spend exactly what my car is worth and not a penny more, yea I'd go find another one. In reality if I totaled my car and got a check for 50k for it, I'd plop another 50-60 for a 991.

Actually if I totaled this car and got a check for it, I'd go and finally try out the RS5 I passed up on the last time I got into this car. I am almost certain I'd be bored of it but I still like it.

Do ittttt. I actually plan on buying a 6MT and some other changes to the specs after my warranty runs out on my current M3.

For the price range, the M3 is hard to beat. I love my M3, but if I were in your situation, I would not get another M3, I'd probably try something different.

Reactions of fanboys only !
Me included ...

If I would sell my car I would only replace it with something really better like the Turbo-S .
As for OP's situation ..Think that's a personal dicision .

Most of the guys here opining are current M3 owners. I was in your shoes and got back on board last month - no regrets. Maybe if my GT4 allocation had materialised it would have been different. However in this price range and being an engine snob, no other car does it for me over the S65. Get it with the lowest mileage you can get and keep it.

If you must have a manual transmission and four seats, there is not much out there- Caddy? Camaro or Mustang? SRT? These are cars I would get tired of owning.

How about an M2? Oh yea, you'll have to wait all year.

Maybe a really clean e39 M5. You'll have money left for mods and maintenance.

Or forget the back seats, throw in some more cash, and go for a 911.

Just find an e92 M3 in the right color with options and mods you enjoy.

If your needs are enough for a 2 seater sports car, I would highly highly recommend getting a s2000. People are surprised when I tell them my favorite car ever is the s2000 and not my M3. I would actually be in another s2000 right now if I wasn't so worried about theft. If you have a garage, they are probably the most fun, purest sports car you can buy right now. I see a lot of past (and current) s2000 owners on this board as well.

One day when I get a multi car garage, I'm going to have to hunt down another one. I miss that one the most.

Nope.

Had an 08 e90. Went through 2 cars. Now back in an 11 e90. I learned my lesson, not letting this one go.
