Driving a 570HP S85 swapped manual E92 M3
We were very lucky to have the chance to drive an S85 swapped E92 M3, this one having 570HP and an 8700RPM rev limit! We’re huge S65/DCT fans but this did make us start to reconsider…

This engine + a manual transmission swapped into any M car is an absolute win every single time!

I'm just out here wondering how much a swap like this actually ends up costing.

Great to hear such a pure sound compared with all the turbo engines we’re used to these days. Awesome conversion. 👏

I myself have been trying to figure out the logistics of swapping one into a e82 chassis (135i, etc) with a 1M body kit. I've seen people saying it could be done from anywhere from 3k to 50k.

How freaking cool. Wish I had the money or guts to do this. An E9x is already such a special car. But my god this would be so much more fun to drive than a lot of other v10’s that come to mind (huracan, r8, e63 m6…)

Except the weight balance, which in the above case could be a nightmare as well. Remember the Z3 prototype from BMW with a v12, having 72% if its weight on the front axle.

I’d personally do the V10 if it were for the enjoyment of it over track use. Then again, I would’ve done it in a E90 or E93 instead. The top down with this soundtrack and power would be quite the experience

Also everyone: But S85 swapped into (insert anything) is amazing.

If you can get the engine low and back via a transaxle solution plus drysump, it would a sweet race build. But at that price point you’re probably in for a Judd V8 which would be 1 million times sweeter.
