I was just wondering the same thing, this doesn't sound logical for a larger width rim and tyres to weigh less, sure the figures should be reversed.
It's curious, but the parts catalogue tells so:

Well, we should know w/in the next few days a confirmation of weight & fitment since Tire Rack's website says they're estimated to get them tomorrow (matte grey & then black on 5/1/08). Notice on their site it says,

"(10) Required lugbolt for vehicle
(1) 1 PR 20MM SPACER 5-120 72.56CB"

Thus, I'm assuming it's for the rear 19x9.5; +35mm offset wheels to make it basically +15mm w/the included +20mm spacers. I know spacers are supposedly safe & what not but I just don't feel comfy using spacers so I'll have to pass on these wheels unless Breyton makes a lower offset for the rears.

Leg posted the following. Not sure if they'll apply to the US product or not.

20 inch rears 11kg (24.25lbs)

Nice! That is lower than BBS CHs and LMs.

Direct from Breyton in Germany (Crikey my German is rusty!!). They told me they had gone all out on this one to reduce weight as much as possible. Looks like they managed it.

Set of those with Michelins on (same as OEM tyres) should do me fine. Question is, silver, gunmetal, black or black with a white or polished lip. Narrowing it down step by step though!!

Anyone wants to check, this is the number +49 (0) 40 789 179 0

Yeah saw that post but sometimes manufacturers lie and/or makes an error regarding weights. I had this happen one time w/another manufacturer. This manufacturer was off by 4-pounds (for a 20" wheel)! And yes, had I known then I wouldn't have gotten those wheels. It's nice to have a 3rd party confirm that's all.

I've been told by my tire guy that the current Race GTS are not meant for the e92 M3. (Think the offsets confirm this - closer to non-M 3 series offsets)

For the E92 M3, he's been told the same design Race GTS 19" will weigh 13kg (+/-)... that to me is closer to a Breyton Wheel... and they'll only be ready some time in late March.

cheers

Aside from the offset issue, I have a practical concern. The spokes going out the the face of the wheel look cool, but once you curb one (and it will probably happen) repair will be very difficult since you'll be dealing with damaged spokes, not just the rim face.

That car looks like it has a 2" lift!

Yes, I'd be concerned about the offsets as well, but the response Leg got seems to indicate that there might be a different version of these wheels for the M3.

That would put them on par with the stock 19" wheels.

Good point. That plus the weight factor (if indeed true at 13+/-kg) is enough to make me decide against this wheel, even as good looking as it is...

cheers.

yup, that's why i'm currently on Schmieden Indivis 19" weighing only 9.5+/-kg, around the same as the stock 18"... (the lightest 19" i could find)

i don't seem to have lost much in terms of unsprung weight and inertia...

cheers

Twas beginning of April for new financial year (cos thats when I get my dividend so I can pay for the car) but I pulled it forward to......this Friday cos Im impatient!

I'll recheck these wheels before I pay for them with regards to weight and so on. Its a tricky one with them being a spanking new wheel.

Im off to London in a minute (I'm oop North) but hopefully I'll be able to post the confirmed info by tomorrow night.

Did your supplier weigh it themselves or did they get the weight info from Breyton? I'd like a 3rd party to supply the info based on what I said earlier.

Just called Tire Rack & they said it literally just arrived yesterday but no weight info yet. Sales representative said he'll call me back by tomorrow w/the weight info. BTW, it's the same offsets as already been posted (+30mm front & +35mm rear w/20mm spacers).

From Breyton he tells me, Tire Racks weights will be extremely useful when you get them though!
