Time for an update.... Parts are ready for wet sanding.... The intake has already been sanded to 220 wet; next 400 and 800 and then clear coat...... Finally 100, 1500 and 2000 wet, buff and polish and they're ready to go!!

After I finish this post, I'm picking up a new expansion tank and EGR/Oil separator assembly and associated hoses, heading over to my mechanic buddies garage and replacing those items. Expansion tank has small pin hole leaks (4 tiny pinholes spraying water) and have loi leaking from separator valve. Not bad, considering the car had 260,000km and those a re factory original parts being swapped out!! Going to be busy tonight I guess......

You'll notice, that I don't wrap hoods and other big exterior parts because those should only be molded pieces, but for the majority of other parts, the gain from going with a pure CF molded part is not worth the cost or fitment issues often associated with such parts..... That's why the wrapping has the same net effect for 99% of CF parts on cars today.....
You are forgiven, since you already have HPF kit to make up for the extra CF weight.

I've made some CF pieces myself and it is not easy to make them as clean as your parts. big kudos, keep up the good work!

Thanks! So having done some CF wrapping yourself, you know the work that goes into producing the parts...

Looks really untity, why didnt you just have it wrapped?
Or, have it re-created from carbon fibre in china, I can supply a good contact and it is not expensive.

I like it and you can be proud of your work.
Anybody can write a cheque or swipe a card but not many can do what you did.

That defeats the entire purpose I got into this. When you mass produce something, you need to decide which product(s) you intend to produce and then build the moulds and then subsequently produce enough to justify the cost of all of the initial steps. I want to wrap parts you can't commonly get, or wrap with cloths you don't normally see used in mass production and lastly, the quaility of of the weave and part fitment is often an issue with Chinese parts. No disrespect, the Chinese make some great products, just not a fan of their CF workmanship. I've recently been approached by a supplier of CF parts for other brands for the same reason, but did ask me to wrap some pieces for his car that he couldn't get from China. Additionally, he admitted that the parts he gets often break when removed as they are too thin!!!

Plus, no need to saturate the market with Chinese mass produced parts; already enough guys selling those on eBay....
